Meet Up With Me At Citi Field on Opening Day

Hey guys I have been in touch with Shannon from Mets Police.com in regards to his Blue Cap Army get together. From the way it looks we will meet up at the new McFadden’s Pub by the bullpen entrance probably around 12 ish – if not we will possibly congregate at the new Mets Museum. I will update the status of this event in the coming weeks , or as soon as Shannon has a set itinerary.
To become a member of the Blue Cap Army please go to www.metspolice.com . I hope to see as many of us TRDMB staff and readers there as possible. I will be the red head wearing the Rusty Staub ’85 throwback Jersey

I can’t be there, I sure hope my schedule is clear to be watching on TV and I’ll look for a Rusty-clone on the broadcast. Have a great time Rusty and anyone that’s joining him!

Unrelated, can anyone with good Spanish language skills help me out with this tweet from Ozzie Guillen? http://twitter.com/OzzieGuillen Google translator couldn’t handle 3 or 4 key words:

I’m really waiting on more info about when/how the Museum/bar open and when. Also, the friend thats’ going with me to the game, be nice if he told me (and paid me) when he was gonna arrive so I could plan the apparently 18 things I’ve agreed to do before the game. :-D

Hey, have you been to my website lately? You should really check it out.
(I wrote a post about it once.)

I personally wont spend the money to watch a game at Citi yet. HDTV works well enough for me

      Atta boy.

      1. metsfan4decades

        LOL.
If I lived in Queens, I’d be there every weekend they played at home. Don’t care if the team stunk or not.

          Make that two of us.

I really don’t understand this idea of “I am so mad at the Mets front office I refuse to go out and support these players”

Are you a Mets fan or not? It’s that simple.

I’m still holding out for stubhub tix.

I’ll be there with a friend. How early I arrive depends on how hungover I am from the Blind Tiger the night before. :) Staying with a friend around the 200th street area NW Manhattan, so a looong subway ride. I’ll be the jackass wearing the bright orange Mets shirt with ‘Fire Omar’ as the player name on back and ’00′ as the player number.

    1. ceetar

ooh, Blind Tiger. never been there, but..

      1. trs86

Did you see some of those girls? Blind hell…

        1. ceetar

girls? what? I missed girls? where, who what ?

too many Irish Car Bomb Milkshakes me thinks..

      2. darknova306

Blind Tiger is a fantastic place. Not quite Mahar’s in Albany (personal bias, of course), but still a damn good beer bar. Either way, yay beer! :)

Kind of board waiting till the season starts, yeah lots of intrigue, yawn. Yes, the kids look great, yada yada, get on with the cuts and see who’s left already.

Anyway, since we’re in a holding pattern I figured I’d look up how some ex-Met’s are doing elsewhere, yes I’m that board.

Joe Smith: pitching to a 15.00 ERA in ST
Aaron Heilman: pitching to a 9:00 ERA in ST
    Tim Redding: 8.1IP, 10H, 5R, 4E,3W, 5SO. Hard to believe that’s only a 4.32ERA

In looking up Redding I was suprised to also find ex-Mets Payton, Mora, and LoDuca at Rockies ST. LoDuca listed as 1B not C. Strange Days indeed…

Lastly, I’m sure all have seen this Kevin Tower taking a job as essentially a Yankee Scout. Quite the drop off from GM.

    1. trs86

Are you board stiff? I think you mean bored but I am with you.

      1. Hazmet

LMAO. Outstanding, long day. At least new season of South Park’s on now.

    2. metsfan4decades

Same here. Wish the season was starting next week…

Just finished watching the end of the Mets classic on SNY with the game ending Endy drag bunt. Never gets old….

What’s with Pelfrey and a blister on his finger today? Hope that heals quickly. That can be a lingering problem if not treated properly…

    Gotta love Pelf:

an actual pitching coach would go a long way.

Speaking of a local, yet syndicated, radio show here in Charlotte had their “best of” on this morning and they were discussing a business called Paper, Copies and Cheese. That place had to be owned by none other than Ron Washington.

        “Paper, Copies, Cheese, and Coke”
