Calling all Mets super sleuths! We need your help. Can you find any information on Mets prospect Dillon Gee? Last we heard of Gee he was possibly rehabbing from a torn labrum surgery. However on March 5th Toby Hyde of Mets Minor League Blog ranked Gee the Mets 22nd best prospect (dropping 12 spots from 2009) and predicted the following:
Projected 2010 Start: Buffalo
MLB Arrival: 2010 for a taste, 2011 to stay, if he ever sticks
I have heard nothing about Gee this spring. Is in in minor league camp? Is he still recovering from the surgery? Is he even still with the Mets? I know our readers are some of the best in the business doing this. So TRDM Sleuths help me find Dillon Gee.

From www. devilsdigest.com – gee is returning from a torn labrum.Dillon Gee returns from a labrum injury to assume a spot in the Bisons rotation. Gee made just nine starts with the club last year before his season ended in late May. A good start and turmoil at the back of the Mets rotation could provide a look in New York for the right-hander.

Assume that means he’s just in minor league camp cause he’s not healthy enough to get that spot start with the big guys (he pitched at Citi last year though. i saw him)
btw, highlight of my stupid hour long drive in due to stupid flood traffic was when Carton decided to put a random girl on that he was salivating over, asks her if she’s having a bushmills before work, to which she responds, “Jameson.” I don’t think he caught it though, he was trying to talk over her at the time.

Hmmm, thanks Rusty. So does that mean he is in minor league camp or is he still recovering?

Haven’t heard about Gee this spring.
Saw a Yahoo Sports story though this morning about Ubaldo Jimenez with the Rockies.
I didn’t know the Mets offered him $20,000 to sign when he was 16. He turned it down, at the advice of his parents. They wanted him to finish high school.
So now he’s with the Rockies at the top of their rotation.
At least we can say some Mets scout knew what he was looking at.

Looks like Gee was supposed to throw in the summer but couldn’t until December. There may have been other injuries involved. He is probably still rehabbing.

Gee has been throwing for a while now. He’s just in minor league camp this year do to the injury last year. He’s ready to go and will be in the Bisons rotation. Hopefully he will get a call sometime this summer.
