actually fired up MLB.tv today. Nice to actually see some BB live, even if it is on a small screen with choppy playback!

Maine looks a little laboring, but I guess he always is to odeliberate. Drags things out. He should speed it up a bit.

Didn’t look too bad stiffening up in the 3rd with 2 men on. Not great today, but still building I guess.

And man, tatis, cora, castillo and Jacobs? That has to be the weakest overall IF playing today. Talk about no range. Although I was surprised to see Castillo get to a slow chopper behind 2B. Must have been real slow.

Nothing passing for offense with this weak ST lineup. It is time to start seeing a real team on the field.

better finish by Maine. And some decent defense, other that the terrible low throw by Cora (nice stop though), and the dismal attempt at picking it out of the dirt by jacobs.

The slim chance of a few more HRS is probably not worth the rest of the mediocre hitting peripherals, and lousy defense.

Cora did do a nice job completely deeking out the base runner on a pop up to LF.

Listening to the game on WFAN. Bottom of the 4th, Coleman and Hagan commenting on how Maine looked like he was tiring. That’s not a good thing. He’s got what? 2 starts left? If he’s tiring in the 4th, how is he ever going to get through 6?

Well, nice 9th inning for the boys. They managed to tie it getting 3 runs with Ike getting the tying run on a ‘barely’ HR. woo-hoo.

Coleman and Hagan were talking about the Cardinal BP and how it’s not their strength at all.

On to the bottom of the 9th.

I see Misch gave up his first run of the spring and KRod wasn’t all that sharp after getting the first two outs.

Mets releasing Fogg at his request.

Ooops….I should know better. You guys are always on top of the Met breaking news.

I just watched that movie – All The Presidents Men – a couple of weeks ago. I haven’t seen that movie in years…

lol – Rubin Gotay hits a walk off HR against Calero.
Apparently, Rubin is tearing up the ball in ST this year.

Ike Davis with the game-tying homer, hitting .500 this spring although he hasn’t played much lately. He’ll start the year in AAA, but with Murph and Jacobs looking lost this spring, they’ve got to be hearing the footsteps……

you got that right i feel bad for murph because going into this season he is being percieved as place holder until ike comes up – kinda like wiggy when david was the heir apparent at third

Maybe what they should start doing is getting Murph ready for a utility role, a la Wiggy. Start working him out at second base (played there limited in Arizona Fall League couple years back) and third (his original position) as well as first. Even toss him out in left once every blue moon (when the opposing team is stacked with lefty hitters). He was ok there in ’08 when playing on a limited basis but awful last year when exposed every day. He’d probably be much more valuable this way. In the meantime, have Jacobs and Tatis split time at first, or possibly acquire a veteran like Mike Lowell (probably making too much money, but this guy is a professional hitter and a winner, also on the block) to hold the fort down until Davis is ready…

its a very good idea but management would find a way to botch it lol

            Sad but oh so true.

well its our teams history of ineptitude lol
