With the news not looking good on Daniel Murphy’s knee and word of it spreading through Mets camp Ike Davis who may be considered as a replacement if Murphy goes to the dl was quoted by Steve Popper of the Bergen Record to say “I hope he’s not hurt badly,†Davis said. But he added, “I think I’m ready if they need me to be ready.â€

I think we make too big of a deal about what any players, managers, officials say to the media. Most of the time it’s just what they are supposed to say or what the media wants them to say.
