Mets Minors Is All A Buzz

It has been a very long time since there has been as much excitement about the Mets Minor leagues. From AAA to Advanced A ball Opening Day for these teams are just as important as the Mets Home Opener this past Monday.

I have already posted the AAA Bisons start play today with players like Thole, Martinez and Davis knocking at the door for a chance at the Big Show. If that is not enough you also have the Mets AA team the Binghamton Mets having their Home Opener today vs the Akron Aeros at 6:35pm with Tim Teufel leading a cast that unludes names like Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Brad Holt to name a few. You can listen to that game here. If that is not enough what may be the most exciting bunch of arms to watch in some time the Mets Class A Advanced Club the St Lucie Mets also kickoff the season today when they take on the Jupiter Hammerheads at 7:05pm and with fireballer Jeurys Familia starting tonight the Mets future is one that deserves following indeed. You can listen to the St Lucie Mets game by clicking here and selecting the Jupiter Hammerheads audio feed.

I like the minor leagues. If I lived closer to one of there teams, I would be perfectly happy to make those my in person games, and watch the big club mostly on TV. Way cheaper, and jsut as much fun.

I have long wanted to go to a B-Mets game. I hope one day I will be able to.

Been to the ducks and cyclones. both were fun, but not the same thing.

Hoping to do a Binghampton Buffalo trip this year, but they only play at home like three weekends so it’s hard to plan for both. And it’s hard to plan in general, so much going on this summer.

I kind of did that last year, seeing a few Cyclones games even though I live in Flushing.

I agree. Wish these teams were closer to me.

I don’t understand. What are these names? What does this mean?

Everyone knows that the Mets farm system is a barren wasteland, with not 1 player that wil lever be worthy of sniffing the major leagues with the worst team imaginable. They all suck. Suck I tell you, suck.

Must be true. I read it on the internet.

Best thing about minor league games: they’re dirt cheap. The Twins’ AAA team is here in Rochester and the best seats in the house are something like $12. Suffice to say, I’ll be at the first series against Buffalo in a couple weeks. :)

That’s awesome. Consider me to have “‘nova envy.”

For minor league baseball, Rochester is a perfect location: Buffalo Bisons (Mets), Rochester Red Wings (Twins), and Syracuse Chiefs (Natinals) are all within a 45 minute drive. :)
