Ugh. It’s no fun being a Met fan these past few years.
The pendulum will swing back. I fully believe this.

don’t fall into that trap. Really, the last few years have been a good time.

2006 was certainly a load of fun.

and 2007 and 2008 were largely fun, and the team was in it (and the fans fully engaged) right through game 161 each year. 2 of the most exciting wins ever for this team, with huge pitching performances.

The fact that I saw, in person, game 162 each year? Well, that particular day started out on a major high. Lots of excitement, which most teams don’t have on the last day of the season. Didn’t last long, but at first pitch, the joint was jumping!

Of course 2009 lost it’s mojo by June, but these years happen.

and still plenty of time for a fun 2010. Just get rid of head buzz kill Jerry, and the party will be starting!

        Yes, 2006 was fun.
Yes, I know we competed in 2007. The finish defied all explanation.
Yes, I know we competed in 2008. But oh, how heart breaking it was to watch that bullpen blow lead after lead after lead…

        2009 – enough said.

2010? The script hasn’t been written yet. I really believe this is a better than .500 club. Remains to be seen what they do with this talent.

I wonder if that dude in the picture knows just how (in)famous he is with Mets fans.
