    Lance Johnson, with maybe 21?

    1. ceetar

Nah, Reyes owns it. Think it’s 19 somehow.

      1. ceetar

Actually, I think i may be thinking of career triples.

          Had to look it up…Johnson had that one amazing year; 1996 227 H, 117 R, .333 BA. Only 40 K, but also only 33 BB, for a .362 OBP.

          Top 5 seasons:

          Lance Johnson-21
          Jose Reyes-19
          Jose Reyes-17
          Jose Reyes-17
          Jose Reyes-12

          Career:

          Jose Reyes 73
          Mookie Wilson 62
          Bud Harrelson 45
          Cleon Jones 33
          Steve Henderson 31

So anyone believe Frenchy is a .400 hitter?
If I don’t see castillo in the lineup today, I’m forming a search party.
Would you move frenchy to the 5th spot?
Glad to see GMJ playing well, but I thought he was supposed to platoon with pagan.
Does Maine get a quality start today?

GMJ playing well? 2 H and 4 BB in 18 PA?

Are you watching 2006 Rangers games?

Frenchy should bat before Jacobs without question.

From the few games I’ve seen, he seems to be hitting the ball hard and playing well in the field, I can’t go off any stats yet. It’s just too early.

Then use his stats for the previous three years.

          OPS for 2007 thru 2009

          .742
          .675
          .697

            + Infinity.

One good year fueled by illegal drugs does not a good player make.

Pagan may have the baseball IQ of a dumb version of Jerry, but he does seem to be able to hit.

Stats are certainly worth paying strong attention to but they, like scouts, are not 100% accurate predictors of future performance. Slavish adherence to them is flawed just as slavish adherence to “eyes” is. Use both together, and prepare to be wrong sometimes regardless, that seems pretty logical.

        2. CaseStreet

No doubt GMJ has sucked the past few years, but then again so has frenchy. What does that have to do with GMJs play so far and me not thinking this years stats don’t mean anything just yet? The same way I don’t think frenchys stats don’t mean anything yet.

      ‘I’m forming a search party’ – hahahaha
Well, Castillo did pinch hit a couple of times over the weekend.

Moving Frenchy to the 5th spot means we’re back to pretty much a black hole after that until maybe Barajas. Not unless they put Pagan back in the lineup for the majority of the time.

I saw the post game with Johan’s interview yesterday. He said his fastball wasn’t there the first inning, he doesn’t know why. And it’s not like he got it back, but he made the adjustments to compensate. Unfortunately, the damage was pretty much already done.
Why can’t the rest of our pitchers make these adjustments? There are pitchers, and then there are pitchers.

Or better yet, there are pitchers and then there are throwers.
