So basically just when Jerry gets around to using Pagan everyday as the lead off hitter and Jose as the 3rd hitter, Beltran will come back. Then what, Beltran lead off? I would go with Castillo there but this is Jerry we’re talking about.
You guys may know I’m very pro-Jose 3rd so regardless of how stupidly this is being unfolded and presented by Jerry, I’m quite curious to see Jose 3rd for a period of time and see how it goes. I just thought, since it was interrupted for the 2nd consecutive year as a spring training experiment, that we would never see it (at least until 2011). So color me intrigued.

I was also on the hit Jose 3rd bandwagon. That was one of the biggest bummers about Jose missing most of ST, scrapping any plans of seeing that from the beginning.
but trying to rationalize this logic for hitting Pagan 8th? mind boggling.
does it really make that much of a difference who is hitting first when Jose moves to third?
And the silliest thing is, with Jerry the great tinkerer, he won’t keep the lineup the same anyway.

He knows he is dead man walking, right? And his contract is guaranteed for the year, so he gets paid regardless.
Well, he wants the summer off, so he is doing increasingly dumb things until the team is forced to let him go soon, and he can have the summer off.
makes sense. Why would he want to waste the summer getting beat up like this, when he can be relaxing on the beach, cashing his checks!

Iirc, many want castillo batting 8 th because jose will have someone to drive in after the pitcher lays down a bunt. Isn’t this what Jerry is doing here?
