I really hope this team rallies around Santana tonight, and finishes off this 4-game series with a huge win. This weekend series has large implications on the NL East as a whole, even at this early stage of the season. Let’s Go Mets!

yes, this would be a big game to win, to get them back on the rigth track. Especially with teh Braves soming in.
WHile no team can be really considered out if the race in mid-april, if they lose tonigth and have a bad series against the Braves (even 1 out of 3), it will really cement the idea that the team is crap.
And if nothing else, it will seriously turn up the heat on Jerry and the coaches. And as a by product, increase the chances that Omar trades someone from the farm that I don’t want traded!
Although maybe this year, they wil be smart enough to wirte off the season (even if it is unstated) in order to build for a better 2011.

I really believe with a better manager, this team would be, at the very least, 8-7 and possibly 9-6. Jerry is a complete moron, he really is. Why is he batting Pagan eighth again? Either flip Pagan and Castillo, or at the very least, move Pagan ahead of Barajas. What’s so tough about this?

move Pagan in front of Davis too IMO. I’d rather Castillo up front, so that’s probably how I’d do it. Or even fifth to so called breakup the righties, since it’s not like Frenchy is hitting.

Yeah, that’s a good deal as well. I’m not a Castillo fan, but he probably works best as a No. 2, especially since Jose is back (Castillo takes the most pitches in the bigs). A lineup of Reyes, Castillo, Wright, Bay, Pagan, Francoeur, Davis, Barajas/Blanco and pitcher is probably the best one they could go with at this point. Which means we’ll never see it….
