The bullpen looks like it could get two days of rest, which is just what the doctor ordered. Our guys have been tearing it up, and they should be fresh for Tuesday’s game(s). Of course, I’m not 100% sure tonight’s game will be canceled, but at least 80% sure.

Wright could probably use a day off right now.

If they don’t play tonight, wonder how the decision is made to play a double header tomorrow? I always thought it was the home team’s decision. But from what I’m reading on the Dodgers, they weren’t even sure who was pitching tomorrow due to injuries and others not working out. Wouldn’t surprise me if they tried to push that game back to later in the year when their SP was more solid.

I have no clue who has what power in the decision making process as far as when they reschedule this game if it gets rained out, but here are some thoughts about the teams’ schedules.
They play each other Weds afternoon at 1:30, so could maybe do a doubleheader Weds but the Dodgers have a home game Thursday night so might not be into it. The Mets are off Thurs.
Mon May 24 both teams have a day off and it’s in the middle of a homestand for the Mets, but the Dodgers are in LA the day before and Chicago the following day.
Mon June 14 both teams are off and again it’s in the middle of a homestand for the Mets, but again the Dodgers are in LA the day before then have to be in Cincinnati the following day.
Mon June 21 both teams are off and the Mets are “traveling” from Yankee stadium to Citi Field. The Dodgers are at Boston the day before and at Los Angeles Angels the next day.
Mon July 26 both teams are off and the Dodgers are at the Mets the 4 days prior to that. The Mets stay home but the Dodgers travel to San Diego. A day-night doubleheader that Saturday might work.
Mon Aug 9 both teams are off. The Mets are in Philly the day before and home versus Colorado the day after. The Dodgers are home the day before but in Philly the day after, maybe they could fit in a day game.
Mon Aug 23 both teams are off. The Mets are in Pittsburgh the day before and home the following day. The Dodgers are home the day before and at Milwaukee the following day.
Mon Sep 20 both teams are off. Mets are home the day before and at Florida the following day. Dodgers are in the middle of a homestand.
So those are the choices. I’m glad it’s not my responsibility to figure it out.

wow, thanks for doing the research, Grave.
I would hope whoever does get to make these decisions, they take into account travel schedules for these 2 teams since they’re on different coasts. Not like when MLB lets ESPN grab a Sunday night home game for the Mets when they have to be in CA the next night to start a west coast series….
As it’s now pouring here down on the Jersey shore, I’ll be Prismo is right on the money with this forecast. WFAN was reporting at 5:15 they were still going to try and get the game in but I’ll bet it doesn’t happen.

SNY just announced the game is postponed tonight. They will play 2 tomorrow. Pitchers will be Ollie and Johan.
