PITCHER

This guy is one tough SOB. Johan threw115 pitches for 6 innings of scoreless ball. The wind was whipping around during the early game, its more like the bats were whipping around with the 6k’s Santana racked up. This guy is proving he is back at 100 percent for the Mets this year and its a sight to see. Santana lowered his era to 2.08 for the season and is looking to compete with statistically our ace Mike Pelfrey as Johan only trails Mike by 1 win(Johan earned his third win of the season). Tell ya what, we ALWAY stand a chance with this guy on the mound…still believe he is worth every cent. Well done

Ay Bay Bay(hat tip to smooth for coining that)! Bay FINALLY joins the home run club by hitting his first home run of his tenure with the New York Mets. It was a solo shot but it was a sight for sore eyes as im sure Mets fans were getting a bit worried with our big fish of the offseason’s slow start. Ever since the change in the Mets lineup, Bay has been a different player…almost night and day from what he used to be. Not sure what he has done different but it has worked wonders for Bay and finally breaking his 108 at bat streak without a home run. Welcome to queens J-Bay!
HONORABLE MENTION
Luis Castillo for his 2 RBI game

Call him Mr. 1000…or 1001, its better than what they have been calling him lately. David Wright broke out from his season long coma, going 3-3 and being the youngest Met to reach 1000 hits. Wright had 4 RBI’s this game in what we can only hope will be the turning point in his season. Wright has been ice cold and the target of boo birds of late…but with a batting average on the bubble(.261), im sure he wont be the target much longer. Welcome back David…we sure have missed you!
HONORABLE MENTION
Henry Blano for going 2-4
Angel Pagan and Jose Reyes accounting for 6 runs tonight
Guess what? WE ARE IN 1ST PLACE!!! What a week can do, luck can change in a New York Minute…Go Mets!!!

Couldn’t agree more – Johan is worth every penny.
I just wish Ollie was. I really thought we were going to see some improvement from him this year. As much as he’s struggled, I have to give him credit for one thing last night: on the post game interview, they asked him what he thought about Jerry pulling him so early, with the lead. Actually point blank asked him if Jerry was right. Ollie replied something like: ‘I walked the pitcher to load the bases. You don’t ever walk the pitcher’.
I certainly enjoyed that day/night double header sweep.
