Real Dirty Mets Forecast 05-04-10

mfor050410I’m back folks! I took a fantastic trip to Albany, NY to visit the family over the weekend and stopped by the Culinary Institute of America and Sturbridge Village while I was in the Northeast. There was *supposed* to be an extra/extended forecast last Thursday explaining that I’d be gone for a few days, but for some reason it wasn’t posted (I probably killed my browser before it finished the process…)! So apologies on my behalf for the disappearance!

Did you get to hang out at the Cross Gates Mall?

Haha, no. I didn’t go to Crossgates, though my sister wanted to go.

Hey, I was in Albany this weekend, too! Spent most of Saturday watching baseball with my old roommate and drunkenly cursing the Mets as Pelfrey got demolished.

Do you get to Mahar’s when you’re back in town?

I tried to – called up a friend, but he was in New Hampshire moving his girlfriend to Troy. So I just hung out with the family.

Ah. I was there Friday. Dragonslayer on tap. Mmmm… :)

You should’ve called me, even though you don’t have my number.

Well, I get out to visit friends/family in Troy/Albany/Clifton Park all the time, so let me know whenever you make the trek back up. Mahar’s is ALWAYS on the agenda. :)

Troy is such a great city…. :) Spent 4 years there and had interesting times….

Oh, I know. I was in school in Troy for 6 years… a very interesting city, indeed. :p To their credit, the city has been improving itself over the years. Though, nothing’s as bad as Schenectady…

Dude, not cool. My mother’s side of the family is from Skinachickensnecktoday.

I love me some Troy. When I was in my early 20′s I spent far too much time throwing myself at the beautiful young women of Russell Sage College, often successfully. My success ratio since then has really suffered. Must be something in the Troy alcohol. Those were the days! 8)

            Oh do I miss Elda’s….

There’s a lot of history in Schenectady… as well as cool places to visit… like the state prison… :)

Hey, I spent 4 years in Schenectady in college.

actualy, I guess you were right!

but, to be fair, I was downtown over Xmas, and it is vastly nicer than it used to be. Bombers was quite good (for the burritos).

CIA, nice. When I was at Marist carloads of us would go up to CIA for Sunday brunch, always delicious. There’s a nice little brewpub in Hyde Park now across from the Roosevelt Mansion. Can’t remember the name, but they have good happy hour prices, that I remember. I think the phrase “steak house” is in the title, they are attached to a restaurant.

well, no pregame thread, so I’ll do it here.

    Lets Go Cardinals!

Oh wait, LGM! Back in first place today baby!

Stop the skid and get off the schnied.
