Day game after a night game, swollen finger, Johan coming off his worst start ever and hasn’t worked with Blanco yet this year, a guy who he had a fabulous relationship with in the past. The timing seems very right for a Santana/Blanco battery today.

I read somewhere last night they did xrays of his finger/hand and they were negative. Just a bruised and very swollen finger. I think even if his hand wasn’t banged up today Blanco would be getting the start – same reason you mention which is day gave after night game.
As Johan has pronounced himself pain free, and I highly doubt he’s ‘lost his stuff’, I’m expecting a bounce back outing from him this afternoon.

Dang, don’t like reading Pelf still feeling some tightness in his shoulder after the game last night. I guess that was the reason for coming out even though his pitch count was relatively low.
He said he expects to make his next start.
