According to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, Carlos Beltran may be given clearence to start jogging. Adam also gives an update on Daniel Murphy
Im not a doctor so I can only hope this is a good thing. Beltrans progression so far this year is the textbook definition of “baby steps”. As long as Beltran can come back and be 100%, he can take as long as he needs to. Needless to say but this lineup and team will look much more intimidating when we have a healthy Beltran back in action.

I saw footage of him hitting in the cage about a week ago… I’m no doctor but I would think that light jogging comes before hitting. Guess I’m wrong.

not in his case. It seems the problem is the pressure and pounding from running (guess that would be the bones banging into each other). Light hitting (depending on which side you hti from and which knee it is I guess) will be much less stressful.

well, since we are pushing mid-may, and hoping he gets the OK to light jog soon, there is not a chance in the world he is playing CF for the Mets by the ASB.
At this point, I will be absolutely, totally shocked if he dos not have a major set back and miss the entire season. Just the way I feel right now.
Even if he does make it back, don’t expect him to lat long.
But, you can expect daily “is he or isn’t he” questions, in/out of the line up, and day-day status!

I dont think this guy will ever be the same. Even if he comes back, he will not be 100%. Granted a 85% beltran is better than what we have now but like you said, beltrans main contribution is its ability to be awesome in CF and I just dont think he will make it look as effortless as he did in his career. I hope I am wrong but his situation goes from weird to weirder by the day.
