Mathe-MET-ics: Mets 8 Game Winning Streak To Start On May 17th

Our Crack staff have unraveled the equivalent of the Da Vinci Code.

The New York Mets will go on a 8 game winning streak on May 17th. How do we know this you ask? Prepare to be awed.

The New York Mets record before their 8 game winning streak was 6-9.

The New York Mets record after their 8 game winning streak is 4-7.

So after they go 2-2 this 4 game series vs the Florida Marlins the Mets will be 6-9.

That will bring us to May 17th where they will take on the Braves and of course they will obviously go on another 8 game winning streak.

Now remember where you got your tip and lets all go to Vegas and bet Big. :-)

And to keep the symmetry intact, you’ve got them winning the first game against the Phillies for #8. then they’ve obviously lose the next game cause it has to end the streak. So that rubber game against the Phillies will be a big turning point.

      lol

The rubber game right now would be Hamels vs. Pelfrey(but the Mets should skip either Maine and Perez so Santana pitches that game.)

btw, despite the added games at home, the Phillies now have to make another trip to Colorado.

At this point why would we skip just so Santana goes instead of Pelfrey? Also, is there an off day where that could happen? Sure don’t want Santana on short rest vs. Phillies.

Off day between Yanks and Phillies.(who knows why, no off day between home Phills Thursday, away Brewers Friday) we would b e skipping Maine or Perez (one of them pitches opener) and then Pelf middle game, Santana finale.

Could, haven’t the Mets normally gone on a no skipping policy?

          2. ceetar

nope. Well, maybe not skipping, but they swapped Perez and Santana to have Santana pitch against the Phillies last time.

Phils, on the other hand, have managed to avoid pitching Hamels against the Mets as much as possible, and it’s certainly possible they work in another pitcher in some regard so Hamels m issing the Mets.

Hmmm, they did swap those two but wasn’t that because of a double header?

          5. ceetar

Well, yes. they both pitched in the double header and both would’ve been on normal rest on Sunday, but in terms of ‘rotation’ Perez was before Santana.

Right, that one seemed logical. Not sure they will do it just to get Santana vs. Phillies but maybe.

These up and down roller coaster rides the Mets are taking me on is making me quesy…

If they can just try and keep winning series from here on out – and actually get it done – we should be in good shape.

And what’s with the Nats owning us?

    1. Mr North Jersey

I’d though of all people you’d be used to it by now 4d :-)

      The queasiness i mean.

So on the morning of May 26th the Mets will be 28-18 10 games above .500 and that is 2 games better than last years pace when the Mets were 26-20 after 46 games.

    Nice….

    1. stickguy

right now, offer me a gurantee on the 26-20, and I wil take it.

      1. DNDJohan aka kistics

        me too.

      2. DNDJohan aka kistics

that means the Mets will go 8-4 compared to 10-2 that NJ is suggesting.

        NJ… I know we’re positive, but…
