According to Mack’s Mets: INF Reese Havens transferred from St. Lucie (High-A) to Binghamton (AA).
Keep on moving Havens, next to Buffalo, then to the Mets and then the White House… OK slow down.  Good luck Mr. Havens and just a reminder Castillo’s contract expires after next year.

Good for Havens. Get used to AA pitching for this year and see how he handles it. 2b man potentially of the future(sorry tejada)

Tejada may very well be the shortstop of the future.

Havens for sure right now is the annointed one (OK, the hoped for ne).
My fantasy (well, related to the Mets) is that he absolutely destroys AA pitching, while continuing his already fine play at 2B. Then the Mets find some sucker at the trade deadline to take Castillo off our hands, and they call up Reese to start the transition.
Hey, since Cora plays 1/3 the time now anyway, it wil lbe a perfect transition!
I know, far fetched, but stranger things have happened.
If it is the best I can get, having him rake at AA, then get a taste of AAA and a big winter season (aka the Ike Plan), and they can have him win the job in ST.

No reason to rush him. Plus we are still in this thing and I think will be all year. I can’t think that THIS year Havens would help us contend more than Castillo. Next year? We shall see if he can pull an Ike.

Havens was always expected to go to AA just as soon as he got his feet back under him from his dl stint playing in StLucie.

he was slated to start the season there coming out of ST, if he hadn’t gotten hurt instead.
