The lineup for tonight’s game has been revealed. As Dirty reported earlier Reyes has returned to the lineup. If you thought that would cause a major lineup shakeup, well you were wrong. Meet your new #3 hitter, Angel Pagan.
Reyes, Castillo, Pagan, Bay, Wright, Davis, Francouer, Barajas, Maine.

well, it is something at least. I don’t agree with it exactly, but at least it shows they are trying.
Castillo is still cumming up the works. As long as they are stuck trying to cover his 1/2 dimensionalism (his current .350ish OBP does not qualify as a full dimension, sorry!), it screws things up.
I relaly think 2B 9since it includes a lot of Cora) should just go live in the 8 hole.
so, bump pagan to the 2 hole (a good fit for him), wright back at 3, then 4 more guys and slappy 8th.

Does poor Castillo know what he is doing to the works? Is that even legal? Can we say that on here?

Davis is the best hitter on the team, pagan is the second best hitter. Bay, wright, and reyes suck. Adjust the lineup to that.

Seriously? And what stat are you basing that on?

The fact that Davis has the best batting average on the team and pagan and wright are tied for the second best except for that wright strikes out in 40% of his at bats and pagan doesn’t.

oh, and it really is about time to give Frnechy a day off, and Carter a start.

Agreed. Let’s see what Carter can do defensively

I think even more if we want Carter to be a productive bench player he’s gonna have to get some AB’s. Rest Frenchy, Bay, Davis, etc.

true. I would love to see carter get back to back starts (1 in left, 1 in right) against the next 2 RH pitchers.
harder to justify playing him at first, but if Davis just needs a rest day, go for it.

We shall see how this will change things but I doubt much will change. Bay/Wright/Frenchy need to come out of their slump either way. No matter what Jerry does, it’s just frustrating. Let’s at least avoid losing the series

saw elsewhere that someone tweeted that Ollie just got called into a meeting with Jerry and Warthen (I will refrain from using the term “braintrust” here).
This could be interesting.
I hope they work out to get him on the 19 day AAA plan for now. at least it gets him out of the way, and buys some time.

Need some opinions:
got intoa debate at my daughters soccer game with a +hilly fan. He insists taht Rollins is the best defensive SS in MLB. I said now way.
now, I just need you smart people to give me at least 5 names of guys that are better (and currently playing).

I wonder what criteria are you using is it the last 3 years?
It’s hard to argue against Rollins he is pretty good. Even if he is not #1 your probably splitting hairs between him being a 1, 1A, 1B or 1C. In the end he is pretty good I would probably say that the Philly fan is not far from the truth.

If “currently playing” is the criteria then DL Rollins is not for consideration.
I gotta run but seriously, Rollins is good, he makes few errors but that’s in part because his range isn’t that good. 17 starting SS had a better “range factor” last season.
Overall game I’d much rather have Tulowitzki, and while I like Rollins I’d also be very happy with Erick Aybar, Yunel Escobar, Scutaro and Drew in the field. I don’t think it’s cut and dried that Rollins is “the best” but he IMO definitely merits consideration in the conversation.
FAN just announced Ollie to bullpen, no starter replacement named. Later!
