Jerry Manuel:Not necessarily, not necessarily, not necessarily, not necessarily.” (response to reporter asking are you guys still committed to Mejia being here in the bullpen?)

John Maine:Obviously you know I got the loss. The line isn’t good at all but I felt good pitching I threw some good sliders I threw two good change-ups in other than the 1st inning my fastball was down and you know I was making pitches with it.

Rod Barajas:Well 1st of all it was dumb base running bottom line unless you know you can get there your 100% sure you can make it to 2nd base being down 3 runs you stay at 1st.

I wonder now if this means mejia is for sure going down soon (as in next week when they either call up a SP or Iggy comes back).

mostly because I thought it was Jerry that was the driving force behind him being up in the first place? Although there always seemed to be some disagreement in the team leadership about him being up or down, I don’t think anyone ever really figured out for sure who the nebulous voices in the FO were that did and didn’t want him.

Those of you who read my recent post about superstition will be pleased to know that I cut Carlos Beltran from my non-TRDMB fantasy team tonight. I was able to replace him on my DL with someone I deemed worthy (Brian Roberts) so I could justify releasing him for reasons other than superstition. Officially tomorrow he is no longer on my roster. I expect the news of his miraculous recovery any day now. You’re welcome. :-)

Ha! If the pattern dogging holds true, we should see Beltran back sooner rather than later.
