Mets center fielder Carlos Beltran, who has missed the entire season after having surgery on his right knee in January, has still not been cleared for full baseball activities.
This news comes from general manager Omar Minaya, who spoke with a group of reporters in the Mets’ dugout prior to Thursday night’s Mets-Phillies game.
Quote:
“We knew it was gonna be a while,” Minaya said.
and 4-6 weeks from when he is cleared so we are looking at post all-star break 100% and who knows how long.

Well, this is not surprising news.
Boras and Beltran will stretch this for as long as possible; maybe the entire season.

Sigh….
I’m torn on this. Hard to know if they had shut Beltran down immediately last year when the bone bruise was diagnosed – instead of playing with cortisone shots – if he would have been ready to go this year or not. Probably no way to know. Or….Carlos was told that, he does know and he decided to do it this year, his way.
I know many are pissed and just want him to come back, even 80% pain and all. But it’s not my knee, it’s not my pain and it’s not my livelihood….
