So here we are at Memorial Day weekend. It’s a time for friends, family get together, drinking copious amounts of beer and eating your fair share of hamburgers, hot dogs and other assorted meat provisions - Just ask my buddy Mo Vaughn.
It is also a time to remember the countless soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice – their lives, so that we may be free.So while we enjoy this weekend – whether we are watching the game or at the mall shopping or just doing nothing, take a moment and just realize how lucky we are to be living in a free country.

                                                                              ” Happy Memorial Day !!”
And now …. ON WITH THE INFAMY !!!!!
Happy Birthday wishes go out to Dyar Miller (1946). He was a middle reliever for the Mets from ’80-’81.
Middle reliever ,Toby Borland is 41 (1969).
New York Mets signed free agent pitcher,Gary Gentry on May 29, 1975.This was to be Gary’second go round for the Mets, but he would never play in another game, and was released a little less than a month later.
New York Mets traded star closer,Jeff Reardon and big time out-fielding bust, Dan Norman to the Montreal Expos for outfielder, Ellis Valentine on May 29, 1981. I know that I am being petty – but I still hate this trade !!
New York Mets traded utility infielder,Al Pedrique and minor league outfielder,Scott Little to the Pittsburgh Pirates for utility man, Bill Almon on May 29, 1987. This was Bill’s second tour of duty with the Mets.
New York Mets signed free agent pitcher ( and Olympic medal winner),Brandon Knight on May 29, 2008.
Okay so we lost last nights game but we can still win this series against the Milwaulkee Brewers ! So Lets go Mets !!!

Rusty, I hated the Reardon trade when it happened and I hate it now!!
Last night was a classic example of why, despite my renewed optimism, I detest Jerry.
How damn good has Feliciano been for how damn long now, and Jerry cannot trust him to try to get a righty batter out?!
Not saying we win for sure, but why can’t Pedro be given the chance there?
It is just so tantalizing to imagine what a better manager not tied to outdated nonsense could do with this group.

Yeah, my wife flips out every time. “He came in for 1 pitch? 1 PITCH!?!?!” It’s comical and sad. Comical for me regarding her. Sad for the Mets.

Speaking of why Johan didn’t pitch the 9th last night:
‘i understand why Manuel lifted him, but at the same time, i don’t…’
Three guesses what infamous bipolar Met fan this quote is from.
After well over 100 comments, I see metsblog took down the story concerning what MF had to say about MC’s ‘I’m proud of Mike Pelfrey’ and looking like a 12 year old in need of a bath post….

Francesa looks like a sloppy 50 year old in need of a summer at fat camp.
MF4D and Rusty, to me one of the great enduring mysteries of this little planet we all inhabit is why wonderful, busy, intelligent, thoughtful folks like you listen to Francesspool, when you could just pour hot wax into your ears and have a more pleasant experience…..

I didn’t hear that controversy yesterday. I don’t regularly tune into MF as I just cannot stand 5 hours of him talking over everyone. I normally only tune in when he’s got guests on I want to hear (like last Friday before the Yankee game) or when I’m in the car during his drive-by show, which isn’t too often anymore.
I wish they’d replace MF in that afternoon slot so I could regularly have something to listen to in the afternoons when I’m working. Hopefully, that comes sooner rather than later…..

I really was just joking around MF4D….I know, despite my distaste for him, that Francesa does have a lot of important sports people on his show….
I just think the comment about Cerrone was so ridiculous and hypocritical—I mean, Mike knows that even though he is on the radio that we all know what he looks like, right? How can a fat sloppy guy criticize someone else’s appearance??

Ha! Well, I don’t follow football but those that do have commented MF does know his football.
But his comments lately overall are just over the top. Heard him go on and on the other day about Met fans needing to be realistic about the fact that the Phils are going to win the division…..

Soccer games. Don’t forget soccer games. THis is a big soccer tourneyment weekend. My daughter had one last night, 1 today, and 2 (only 2 hours apart) tomorrow afternoon, when it is supposed to be pushing 90. FUn times. Thank god the pool is open and swimable!
I am still all ramped up about ugly Jerry coming out again.
Maybe that is a reason why the road record sucks? The managering is different, and it exposes Jerry’s ineptitude even more?
His pen management just might sink this team after all.
I still think we will be into a long man by the 3rd, and if he doesn’t use Ollie again theire, they will be down to about a 2 man pen after Valdes. So expect him to use 3 OOGYs in the 7th inning.
