It’s funny, as personally I’d replace Tatis with Murphy, but if Murph does play 2B well, he could actually ‘save’ the Mets from Manuel vesting Cora’s option.
Tatis doesn’t really have much power anyway. and having to have a righty to pinch hit with is overrated anyway. silly matchups.

well, carter and murphy at times have shown the ability to hit LHP, so it is not a crucial problem. I don’t, however see them releasting Taties at any point.
put if Murphy can be OK at 2B, it will make things more interesting. And for sure, him in the lineup over the C&C boys makes the lineup look better!
Also, I don’t care that much about the option. Still doesn’t mean he will for sure be back, since it is not that much. Plus, they will need a BU MI anyway. I just hope they have a better, everyday 2B option, meaning the MI guy will just rot on the bench. Especially if it is cora.
Or they can just make him the new manager. or a very well paid bench coach.
yaeh. I’m not really concerned with the paltry $2million. What I’m concerned with is how this appears to be another example of how Omar makes up the team one way (presumably so that Cora doesn’t hit the option) but Manuel uses it a different way (All but platooning them)

well, the obvious answer is to remove Jerry from equation. And I will be totally shocked if he is here next year (among many other negative emotions).
I think I’d rather have tejada’s better defense over Murphy or havens’ bat. With all the hitters in the lineup the defense is more important. As much as everone hates castillo he’s still good at turning two.
I think murph will develop into a slightly below average defensive second baseman. His glove is good, his arm is good, his footwork is ugly. Castillio has been tollerable this year, however in a big spot he could kill us as bad as Murphy could. I’ll take Murph hands down.

Who would be the right hand power pinch hitter?

Gary Matthews Jr. Henry Blanco.
