…and quietly somewhere a back up middle infielder’s second year contract option vests…

There is still time for some double thumb ligament damage, but then again, even that can’t keep super cora from the DL!

I’m guessing this mean’s Cora will be starting full time and Tejada to back up? Hopefully not?

I hope he will start at least 50% of the time. When he was up with the team earlier for 4 games he started 2 so there is some precedent for that.

Tejada has been playing well so I really hope he starts.

problem is he hasn’t played much at 2b. 4 games this year and 14 last year.

Oh, how I long for the days of Fonzy and Ordonez. Reyes and Valentin weren’t a bad combo either.

Wow, I feel like George Bailey, when he met Clarence on the bridge.

Ideally, tejada would get to start FT to see how he does. But of course with Jerry at the helm (why God, why!), he will probably get less ABs and PT than Carter does.

Considering Cora has an OPS in the .500s, and less range than I do, that makes little sense outside of Jidiot land.

And I don’t care about COra’s option. If it vests, so what? That is next year’s problem! And not really much of one. Either he plays well enough to be a functional (if somewhat overpriced) BU MI (hpopfully truly a back up, with someone other than Luis starting), or he will totally flame out and be cut (or made a rally expensive coach!).

I would have liked to see Reese Havens…

too early. Maybe to start next season for real. POssibly a september call up this year.

Most likely, he gets on the ike plan, and takes over at some point next year.

Let him get a few hundred more AA ABs, and play fall/winter season. ANd of course, stay healthy.

He is also still adapting to 2B now.

Maybe down the road but clearly with all of 10 games played at 2nd under his belt and that also being the amount of games he has played in his career above A+ Ball its a lil soon I would think.

Plus the mundane roster issue: Tejada is on it, Havens is not.
