Catching Up On Mets Roster Moves Today

Ok to get everyone up to speed as to the roster moves the Mets have done so far here is what we know up to now.

The Mets placed Luis Castillo on the 15 day dl bruised right heel and recalled Ruben Tejada from AAA.
Ruben Tejada will be in tonight’s lineup and is expected to play 2nd the “bulk of time.” according to Jerry Manuel.

The Mets also designated for assignment Gary Matthews Jr. and called up Omir Santos.
It was reported Omir Santos was called up because Heny Blanco was given a cortisone shot and will be out for a few days.
Santos should be a temporary move since it was reported Omar Minaya promised to call up outfielder Jesus Feliciano.

Ahhh, warms the heart on a Friday afternoon. Now, the news Omar pulled the trigger on acquiring a pitcher.

We should have another move as well for Niese, no?

    Neise move will be tomorrow.

I was hoping to see at least 1 more move to shore up the pen, but no such luck.

Agreed, but at least something got fixed. Now time to fix the pen, Misch and Parnell(possibly).

It would be nice if the next move was to DFA Manuel and call up any one of Obie, Teufel or Wally.

Also according to FWICG.com, it is possible Mejia will be sent down when Niese is activated. Cautiously optimistic, but they said that not to long ago and didnt follow through. I’ll believe it when I see it.

that is my motto for everything about this team, especially if it is a move that seems like common sense or is totally logical.

actually, mejia for neise tomorrow, if that is the only move, is actually a stupid idea (and yes, I know I sound like I am contradicting myself!)

but note, I set “only move”

Right now, Mejia is one of the few fresh arms out there in the pen. ANd with a couple of guys they won’t use, or maybe can’t use, it leaves them even thinner.

so, send down say valdes and mejia, call up neise and parnell. SOmehting like that makes mroe sense.

It’s slightly nice to see, but in actuality BOTH moves make the team worse tonight.
