I’m curious to read some critiques on this.

I approve, based on the Animal being in the lineup.

So, swapping a strikeout guy with a strikeout guy. Meh.

That’s not negative, it’s just plain silly.

Thank you.
His BA w/RISP is STILL short of the .987 that Pujols and MANNYMANNYMANNY put up, so even though he is, again, a very productive player who has been excellent in the field lately too, he will still get criticized.

We shall see how the lineup does… but looks good to me. With Wright seemingly striking out less and “seeing the ball better”, maybe Bay can drive in more runs in the 5th spot. I think he did pretty well in the 5th spot with the BoSox, so let’s hope that this lineup gets the middle of the lineup going.
Let’s go animal!

I don’t hate it. but for the sake of critique
I’d swap Barajas and Frenchy.

This is fine with me. Forgot about the DH in these series.
I’d much rather have Bay’s bat and defense in there so good to see Jerry didn’t do something dumb like make Bay the DH and put Carter in LF…..
One of these rare games I’m going to miss – or a good portion of it as I have to go somewhere. Here’s hoping I return home and see the Mets on top.

I’m worried about this series. Facing the superior AL will be tough. If the Orioles were in the NL, they’d run away with any of the three divisions.

The AL isn’t actually superior, especially the teams we’er playing.

I’m sure they’d run away with the NFC East, the Norris Division and Senior PGA Tour too!

Doesn’t matter who it is. Until the Mets start showing they can win road games, all road series make me nervous, even against the lowly Orioles. Though, despite that, I’m heading to Cleveland next week for that series.

But yeah, the only thing the Orioles would run away with in any division is last place…

Don’t say that with Pittsburgh within earshot. They may take offense. Or Lack of Offense, depending on your point of view.

There is one team for sure that would LOVE for the O’s to be in the NL East. The Nats. They would finally finish something other than last.

I’m just glad that the Mets don’t have to face the Pads bullpen (except Mujica or the fat Vicky)…

As much as I like the Animal story & his moxie on the bench these next 3 series are big to see if he is a legit DH prospect and can thereby possibly be turned as part of a package for a Cliff Lee rental. Not saying he’s would be a centerpiece but if he tears it up he could be a nice sweetner to a deal. It’s a long way from here to there on a Lee deal but it would be nice to see his value raised as a possibility.

I love switching Wright and Bay; this is how the lineup should be.
I have to give Jerry credit for making changes when things are less than ideal.
Carter is not very good and we will all see that the more he plays.
The hot Frenchy does give Barajas some protection; I like it all. And Carter probably should not be 6th, but it does give him some protection there as well.
A thumbs-up for the Jidiot for tonight’s lineup.
We were in precisely this position before we went to MIL and SD; now we play two pretty crappy teams. Must win 4 of the next 6 at least. 5 would be OK too.

well he’s batting .269 with 5 RBI in only 26 AB – most of the AB being as a PH

His OBP is .296, his OPS is mediocre, and he has looked pretty weak a lot of the time.
I will be the first to admit I am wrong if he becomes anything.

You’re rushing to judgment on Carter who has done nothing but hit in his minor league career.
26 mostly pinch hit at bats is a worthless sample, especially with the mindset that most pinch hitters have which is to swing at the first fastball they see.

A very bold comment right after he hit his first MLB HR.
Let’s see what he does after a few starts.

Jidiot willing, we will know soon what happens when he gets a few starts in a row.
although I have a real fear that we will see a Tatis pulled out of Jerry’s arse tomorrow.

His minor league numbers were the same even before he hit that HR: .307 .380 .514
And in his start the other night he pounded a ball to the CF wall; hardly looking weak. 4 of his 8 hits this season have been for extra bases.

I’m not sure a few starts will mean much anyway. 12 at bats? 20 even?
I don’t think you can fairly evaluate a hitter on a few starts.

Perhaps one too many for a guy with a career .680 minor league OPS.
Then again, he did walk down the Hudson to get to Citifield.

Time for Teh Animalz to shut the haters up, although i’d rather have him hitting behind Frenchy(“Salad Dressing”) and Barajasaurus.

Think what?
That Carter is bad?
Carter sucks thus far, and Cora is done.
That’s what anyone who has watched the game for decades would think.

Oh so we agree on Cora, ok. I know Teh Animalz isn’t great, but it’s like any scrub that you sometimes gain an affinity for, almost like a Joe McEwing.
