Hat Tip to “DNDJohan aka kistics” for providing this link from the guys over at DeadSpin of Francoeur, Bay and Wright (who happens to be rocking a #10 Landon Donovan USA kit) this past Saturday just before the USA vs England game over at the Continental Harbor Hotel, in Baltimore, Md.

This was Saturday which he went 0-4. I think it’s the beard shaving that got Bay going on Sunday.

Ugh…just when I start feeling positive about the Mets, a picture showing them being into….SOCCER?????? EW! C’mon, guys, man up! Soccer is of interest only to 11 year old girls and European “men”….not to pro ballplayers!!!
Yikes.
Soccer. Pshaw.

Ignorant comment. Don’t like it, fine.
I could say that the NBA is played by prima donnas’s and pansies who look for foul calls every two seconds. I could say that, but I wont.
ceetar
6/14/2010-3:16pm at 3:16 pm (UTC -4)
yes, because looking for foul calls in soccer is apparently part of the “strategy” or something.

some teams play that way sure. I don’t feel like getting into an argument, I don’t feel like this is the right forum for that. The game speaks for itself, its the worlds most popular and I myself am a fan.

many people like NASCAR too. *shrug*
Nothing comes close to baseball in my mind. not even close.

I agree, Baseball is always and will always be my #1 sport.
Don’t get me started on NASCAR, turning left is not a sport.

People like nascar I think because it’s a sport they find it very easy to ‘relate’ to, as most people have in fact driven and turned left.

Basketball = is palyed by prima donnas, and always just comes down to free throws in the 4th. Dull, but, at least, unlike NASCAR, and, er, soccer, is defensible as an actual sport…for men.
Give me baseball, football and hockey. The Eurotrash can keep their cute soccer game, along with bocce ball and croquet!

Hey Gip–Gotta respectfully remind you that soccer is also the most popular sport in Latin America, Africa, and many parts of Asia.
Soccer is by far the world’s most popular sport.
Personally, I think soccer is ALMOST as exciting as watching paint dry, and everything about NASCAR screams “I am a redneck moron! PLEASE paint on the side of your car which laundry detergent I should buy!”
But Talladega Nights was funny.

Oh wait, maybe that is the official Yankee team motto? I get confused.

Jerry should be fired for letting those players watch soccer!! I mean seriously?? soccer?? what a joke!! i mean it’s not an American sports right? anything that the Americans don’t create is crap!! in the world of Americans there are only 3 sports. Baseball, Football (with the real ball), and Basketball. what a joke this team is….

Pretty sure that more kids in the US play organized soccer than baseball, and I don’t think it is even close.

More kids play soccer than baseball in probably every country on the planet, with the possible exceptions of Canada and Japan.
Soccer is not even on my radar screen, but the overwhelming majority of human beings prefer it over baseball.
Not me though.
Baseball, football, and basketball, in that order please.

I know King…someday the world will grow up. Agreed on soccer being as exciting as paint drying, and NASCAR being, well, incomprehensibly stupid…but each to his own…. I just hate seeing my baseball team doing the soccer thing.

Now if Wright had a Miami Dolphins jersey on and Bay a NJ Nets shirt, damn, we’d really have something!

I think you’re mnore likely to see Jason Bay with an Edmonton Oilers jersey… and that’s fine by me! (assuming he like no one else would publicly wear an Islanders jersey)

same here. i just can’t understand why jerry would let couple of grownup professional baseball players watch this stupid soccer. this team is terrible for letting couple grownups to do their own things at their own time. i mean we talkin’ about soccer here. i can understand if they watched american sports like basketball or football in their free time. but no soccer. it’s such a boring sports. it’s not like it’s the #1 sports in the world or anything. it’s so un-american.
