Nice little article by Ted Berg about Mets recognizing errors and moving forward.

Agreed. I think someone here pointed this out a couple of weeks ago. The Mets, and most teams, tend to give guys a little more of a chance than fans do, try to analyze it outside a heat of the moment way. They _should_ give talented guys every chance to succeed (although it’d be easy to argue that they certainly play favorites about who they give chances to)

Jenrry Mejia is no longer a mismanged asset, he’s a prospect starter that’s been given a taste of the real thing.

I am less down on Mejia being with the club than I used to be. I still, however, think Jerry misused him whle he was here.

The reason I don’t think it was bad is the innings limit they seem to have him on. Even after “wasting” 1/2 the year in the pen (wasting in “”s since he gained valuable expereince and humility), starting in AA by early september he will likely be running up agianst his innings allotment.

Plus, if he does well, he might be able to come up and really help out in the pen for the stretch run, after rosters expand.

This just might have been better overall than having him start right away, and be sent on vacation by early August for the rest of the summer!

start now, met pen in Sept., winter all, and see what you got next spring.

unless of course he is traded (which at this point I am thinking does not happen).

The Mets just had a different view/plan about his overall development process. Doesn’t mean it was wrong for sure.
