Flores skipping St. Lucie? Is that unheard of? Man, talk about pushing a guy. I’m very excited to see how he does.

I might have to go to Bing this summer.

Mack’s has Flores heading to St. Lucie. Was there an update that I missed?

      1. metro

Flores is headed to St. Lucie as I noted above, only Cohoon is headed to AA

Corey Vaughn, ripping it up. :)

sporting that snappy .188 BA! But it was just 11 ABs I think, so maybe it is too early to write him off as a bust? Takes at least 98 ABs for that.

well Ike Davis was awful in Buffalo…

        1. oleosmirf

          Brooklyn i mean

      2. trs86

While the BA is way down the SLG is way UP. LOL.

    2. Mr North Jersey

I’d take anything that a player does in rookie ball with a Half grain of salt.

Hopefully Familia begins to turn his season around.

Those moves would seem too many to Bingo. And way too soon for Flores. I might even leave Flores in Savannah.

some of yo misread the sentence (it was a little confusing). Cahoon to buffalo. The rest to St. Lucie.

This was exepcted to happen as soon as Savannah clinched the playoffs (which they did the other day).

    2. stickguy

and familia looked better yesterday. Still really young, and just learning how to pitch (not throw).

    Who names a kid Yucarybert?

    1. njstuckintx

Who names their kids Dweezil, Moon Unit, Ahmet and Diva Muffin? A pioneer, I tell you. A pioneer…

      1. fongy2

        A Friggin’ burn-out I
        tell ya, a burn-out!!

  6. fongy2

b/t/w….When do we move a few of these minor leaguers for Roy Oswalt?

    1. trs86

      2014?

      1. fongy2

        not gonna help us this
        season!

    2. njstuckintx

I saw this somewhere that Pujols and Oswalt were in the same rookie class. I always imagine oswalt to be a lot older. not sure why…

      1. stickguy

Pujols also came up pretty young, didn’t he?

I think of Reyes the same way. I can’t even remember the team before he was here, and he is still only 26!

        1. njstuckintx

I have vivid memories of Santana, Elster and Rey Rey. Uff da, Rey Rey. Uff da.

  7. metro

Blake Forsythe close to a deal and will be assigned to BK

    1. stickguy

Gators out of the CSW yet?

I want to get that Den Decker kid signed and going. He actually seems like the most intriguing of the single digit picks. If the bat plays (he seems to be regarded to have the potential), and he has whatever the magic amount of power is, he could end up being a good one. Certainly can use the glove!

hopefully he is one of those talented guys where it really all comes together once they get to play FT as a pro.

      1. metro

den Dekker is probably ticketed for BK which is sort of disappointing because Ceciliani’s future is in CF as well. Maybe they send den Dekker to Savannah

        1. oleosmirf

          or Kingsport

  8. CaseStreet

I sure hope this kid Merritt does well in Buffalo and gets a call up soon.
We’ll need a replacement for Feliciano who is projecting to be a Type A Free Agent.

    1. youngvalerawest

His 2009 season was just okay and his 2010 season so far is just okay. I don’t know what his splits are.

In any event, if Feliciano is Type A I think you have to offer him arb and hope he walks. As good as he’s been over the years, he’s replacable for less money and two high draft picks could prove much more important than a lefty specialist.

      1. njstuckintx

You are probably right, but the one real constant in the whole bullpen has been feliciano… It’s going to be one completely different bullpen next year, that’s for sure.

        1. stickguy

most BPs have a ton of turnover between years. heck, many have tons of turnover during the year!

I would not want to go more than year to year with a guy like pedro anyway, so if heis a type A, then arb is a win-win. You get him back for a year, or you get some picks.

          1. youngvalerawest

            yep.

          2. njstuckintx

I guess I’d feel alot better about it if we had some viable arms in the minors. Counting on Parnell, Misch, etc. I wouldn’t quite call viable.

            We could always resign Escobar!

    2. njstuckintx

Bradford I hated to see go, but I understood it. Letting Feliciano go… PR and Bullpen killing nightmare. Being a Type A will help out, but I want him back, for sure. And knowing our luck, his arm will fall off in the first of his 3 year contract…

      1. stickguy

that is why you offer him arb.

    3. CaseStreet

He’s ALSo the longest tenured met next to Reyes.
