On June 20, the Savannah Sand Gnats beat the Augusta GreenJackets 9-5 in Augusta to secure the first half championship in the South Atlantic League. Savannah clinched its first playoff birth since 1996 on the final day of the first half. Check out the video highlights of them clinching the 1st half.

the 1st half champion gets an automatic spot in the playoffs…the 2nd half champion gets an automatic spot in the playoffs.
the reason they do this is b/c the guys who are doing well after the first half of the season…usually move on up by the time the season is over…

I expect Pagan in RF the majority of the time, with Beltran in the 6 hole

logic (and splits, not that Jerry can be bothered with those pesky stats) say to platoon pagan and frenchy.
and when frenchy is playing, take advantage to have Beltran get a rest.
beltran will probably only be good for 4-5 days a week to start with anyway.

i also think that if Bay is still struggling they should give Pagan maybe 1 start a week in LF…

I’m sure Bay will sit couple games here and there too. Maybe Pagan should learn to play 2B. He’s a pretty athletic guy.

I would like to see Beltran hitting 5th and Bay 6th.
Bay has played well in the 6th spot for the BoSox.
Or have Beltran/Bay/Davis/Barajas. Hoping that Bay will get on base a lot for Davis & Barajas to drive him in.
