I saw a tweet today from a guy who I guess is a Mariners fan and regarding a potential Lee-to-the-Mets trade his take was basically “wow the Mets really abuse their pitching prospects the way they move them around so much.”
I didn’t bother replying to the tweet but I found it a stretch to equate movement from 1 level to another with “abuse.”
And he wrote this before these Gnats moves were published so if he thought these pitchers were being abused before I guess he must think they’re being tortured now.

I’m not sure if it constitutes abuse but the Mets have mishandled young pitchers frequently: rushing Pelfrey; rushing Mejia and then miscasting him; promoting Parnell before he was ready and then using him as a reliever for the first time in his career (see Mejia again); rushing (if not overestimating) Kunz; I’m sure some might say too much too soon was done with Holt but I can’t put my figure on it.

lol, I would like to see what pitchers he is referring to exactly. I mean is he talking about Mejia going from AA to the bigs back down to AA? Maybe he is talking about Holt going from AA to St Lucie.
Other than that I have no idea who else he could be talking about. Maybe Kunz?
