If they can fire a Perogie custom kid for making negative comments on his Facebook account about Houston(?) baseball owners, I can’t imagine with this little video should prompt. Then again, it is Philly…
While I’m happy that Beltran is taking steps forward my excitement is tempered by the knowledge that coming back from a similar layoff it took Reyes roughly 40 games to rediscover himself. If Beltran’s process unfolds similarly then any true Beltran-esque contributions won’t come until mid-August at the earliest.
Excellent point on the noteworthy differences in their respective layoffs. I’m still concerned that he will be a slow starter though because typically ST is roughly 30 games (I know the stars don’t start each one or play all 9 innings but) that follow a couple weeks of workouts.
Beltran has his couple weeks of workouts but so far he has had 1 partial game and somehow I don’t see him getting roughly 30 therefore I’m expecting rust.

Good to hear him feeling good in the field, but it’s still hard to get excited about him until I see him on the Citi Field grass in a game.

Assuming the Phanatic is a male whatever, is that what the kids today refer to as a tea bag?

I’m in agreement with this. I just doubt Beltran comes back hitting the ground running – although it would be most welcome.

I don’t think the layoff ws the same.
Reyes had a few days of ST, then vegged on the couch for almost a month, then worked out and played for 1-2 weeks.
Beltran has been doing ST for what, 3 months now? and will have a couple of weeks of games.
So if anything, Beltran should be in opening day form, if not better, with all the work he has been doing!
