Can’t win ‘em all I suppose.

Gotta love the fight in the team that made the game close.

Yeah.. sucks that they couldn’t get the runner in with bases loaded and 1 out…
Bases loaded situation is the worst enemy for the Mets. They give up so many GS, but can’t score.

Off Topic – Ok, maybe Im a little biased and protective of the Mets but the way some media is trying to spin this Santana rape allegation is the reason why the media are a pack of vultures. A woman came forward and accused Santana of raping her on a Florida golf course last October. After the alledged rape encounter, they went to a tennis court where she sat and watched him play tennis. Hmmmmmmm.. She watched the guy who “just raped her” play tennis? She went forward to the authorities and due to not enough evidence, prosecutors decided not to go forward with the case and it was closed. And for that to happen, there must be no proof at all but a “Yea, he raped me.” Prosecutors are not so quick to close a case, especially when dealing with such an accusation. Sounds like to me, this chick saw Santana and went “Ca-ching!” You know how easy it is for a malicious person to ruin a celebrity/sports figures life? All you have to do is wake up and say “This guy did this to me.”
The only thing Santana is guilty of is cheating on his wife, and lets be honest here, the majority of MLB players cheat on their wives. Question his infidelity if you want to, but don’t try to spin the idea of a man possibly being a rapist, when the appropriate authorities deem him not.

I agree with you and we’re both probably biased on our opinions. But to play the devil’s advocate role, it could be that the woman was scared and shocked that she didn’t know what to do at first. Or maybe it’s wasn’t a rape like brutal beat down rape, but more like Johan was forceful and did not take no for an answer. Whatever the case is, I just hope it doesn’t come up again. And it must suck to be Johan right now at home.. probably sleeping on a couch…

I imagine Johan can afford a spare bedroom.
I hate the media for the most part. Especially TMZ type media. Always trying to dredge up a story. and they’ll twist whatever facts they need to get that.

But if you turn the table, say it was Hole Camels or Rollins, we’d have no problem with it..

Well, not really. I don’t really care. I hope it becomes a distraction for them, and I do enjoy teasing Phillies fans that they’re got a taem full of bums, but I would prefer to stick to the game.

“…the majority of MLB players cheat on their wives…”
That’s a pretty bold statement backed up by what?
IMO it doesn’t matter what percentage of what segment of the population cheat on their wives, what matters is either you do or don’t care that people cheat on their wives.
I find it abhorrent but it’s easy for me to feel that way, I’m not married. It’s not like I’m going to picket the ballpark or boo him but I’ve lost some respect for him. As someone else here said the day the story broke “if you know you love the pooty-tang don’t get married.”

Interesting stat on bases loaded situation.
69/AB 1/2B 1/3B 0/HR 4/BB .203/.238/.246
80/AB 1/2B 0/3B 7/HR 11/BB .288/.351/.563
But look at the numbers when the runners are on 2nd and 3rd.
45/AB 7/2B 3/3B 1/HR 17/BB .400/.537/.756(this is not OPS!)
52/AB 4/H 1/2B 0/3B 0/HR 15/BB .077/.268/.096
Isn’t that crazy???

Especially the offensive numbers considering first base is ALWAYS open in those spots!
Very interesting; thanks for this.

I guess OBP is probably overstated for the runners on 2nd and 3rd simply because of IBB, but it’s amazing to see such a big difference.
I looked at the Yankees stats to see if this was common through other ball clubs, but Yankees have better numbers with the bases loaded.
I’m not sure if the Mets are pressuring themselves with bases loaded situation or what not, but I think it’s interesting.
