Breaking News: Mejia Leaves Game In 2nd Possibly Injured.

UPDATE 4:50pm: WNBF Radio the B-Mets radio affiliate just said Mejia left with right shoulder stiffness.

Original Post 3:08pm: Jenrry Mejia making his 2nd start today for the Binghamton Mets vs the Akron Aeros left the game in the 2nd inning after facing 2 batters. No word as to why but it’s believed it is due to some type of injury. The Akron Aeros twitter feed had Mejia’s unofficial pitch count at 44 pitches. Mejia’s final line was 1.0/IP 2/H 2/BB 2/SO 0/R 0/ER. We will update as soon as we know more.

It was reported that after his 1st start Mejia was scheduled to make three starts on three days rest. Being limited to 60 pitches and then was to be stretched out fully and moved to a regular five-day rotation.

If your last name starts with M you don’t want to be in the Mets minor leagues: Murphy, Martinez, Mejia…

    Allegedly it’s only a blister

I am listening to BMets audio feed and scanning the net and haven’t seen the report of a blister. That would be great if true. Where did you read this allegedly blister remark?

Someone on Twitter but they’re obviously wrong

Hopefully, it’s only a blister. ‘Cause 44 pitches is not very good for 1 2/3 innings….

someone on the other site posted that the akron twits posted it was an injury, but the twit was later taken down.

It was either an injury, or he is being rerouted to the pacific NW. Should know soon enough.

but yeah, 44 pitches in less than 2 innings is not good. Especially on a 60 PC!

WNBF RADIO the BMets radio affiliate said he was taken out of game by trainer leading to suspicion it was some sort of injury.

well, if this latest SNY update is true, must be one hell of a foot blister!

    Updated at 4:43 pm:

…the word from Binghamton is that it is an injury, and he had to be helped off the field…

I guess if he is hurt, and will be out for an extended period of time, the “don’t trade him” crowd might have just gotten their wish.

Yet another example in the pile. I have had to rent storage space for the examples, my basement, attic & garage are full.

At least he fixes his mistakes. The post title went from “Jenrry Mejia Removed from Start in Triple-A” to “Jenrry Mejia Removed from Game with Stiff Shoulder”.

Also his update that said “Updated at 4:43 pm: …the word from Binghamton is that it is an injury, and he had to be helped off the field…” is nowehere to be found.

    Latest update:

SNY post game reporting it’s right shoulder stiffness.

Uh oh. That doens’t sound promising.

also, I am really gald that this happened when he was back in Bingo. I can’t imagine how noisy, and ugly, it would have gotten if he had hurt himself in a mop up outing pitching with the mets!

and considering he is still basically on a RP schedule, no way could this be tied to having him in the pen, then going back to starting.

    1. GravediggerHebner

Some will surely try to blame it on his having been here.

  8. oleosmirf

well looks like Mejia wont be traded now!!!

    1. metsfan4decades

Ha! Well, that’s one way to take him off the table….

      1. oleosmirf

well Omar is supposed to be a trade expert. lets see what he can do
