Oleosmirf this is the 8th inning for just the Mets Relievers. I want you to know this one team took me 1 hour 15 minutes to put together. I hope you appreciate the lengths I went to do this for you.

Could you do that again with the leftie/rightie splits for the pitchers?
I kid, I kid. :p

Or lefty/righty. You know, however you spell words and stuff.

the lefty/righty splits are fairly easy, baseball reference page has them, just requires 20 clicks or however many pitchers we’ve used.

Well, everyone from Pedro on up getting the job done in the 8th, even though some are an extremely small sample size. Glancing at this though, it’s obvious Jerry doesn’t have an 8th inning guy.
I’ve got the type of mindset that believe anyone in the BP should be ready to pitch when called upon – closer aside – but seems like defined roles and a set up guy is more the norm today than in the past. Bobby O keeps preaching Jerry has to pick one guy and give him a fair chance. I’m thinking that guy should be one who can get a K or at least a ground ball.

And kudos, Jerz. I see Cerrone linked to your post here saying ‘nice research’….

thank you mr. north nj
while the guys as a whole have done a pretty good job, the question I pose is whether or not anyone of the guys we have now can get the job done on a consistent bases.
besides Feliciano and K-rod, there isnt anyone we have that has ever been an 8th inning guy or even an integral part of an MLB bullpen for more than a year.
you can roll the dice with a few unknowns in the pen but we cant afford to do that with over half of the bullpen…
