Tools wise, Kirk probably has the ceiling of a David DeJesus from what I’ve read. That’s a solid major leaguer but not a difference maker.
Interesting stat discussed during yesterday’s game — The Mets lead the league in relief appearances. This is hard to believe considering how solid the starters have pitched for the last couple of months and how deep in games they’ve gone.
It means one of two things — the relievers just aren’t getting the job done… or the manager is really bad at utilizing his pen.

mostly the 2nd.
Even when the SPs go 7, Jerry still manages to use 4 RPs quite often.

I taqke those “expert” predictions with a grain of salt, especially for a what, 22 YO guy just starting his 3rd year of pro ball.
look at all the improvements he made last year, from changing his hitting approach. And hard to argue with the results so far this year.
Even if he ends up like dejesus, that is still pretty good hitting, for a guy that can legitimately play CF. ANd he certainly could top out higher than that.

Not surprising when you consider the first 1.5 months of the season 2/5ths of our rotation had trouble making it to the 5th. The Ollie & John show drive that stat imo.

the really hot guy is Lucas Duda. Starting cranking HRs in AA, so they moved him up to Buff, and he is still cranking them out there. Very impressive numbers so far this year.
And eventhe forgotten man F Mart has 3 HRs in the last 4 games.
F mart and Kirk has the same weakness at the moment: lousy walk rates.
