I love this lineup. Reyes adds so much. Now, give it a week (as per nutjob Jerry) for Beltran to be back, slide out Frenchy for Beltran and that lineup just got crazy deep. Hopefully they get get the boat back to being pointed in the right direction prior to the AS game, use the break to rest up and start the 2nd half with a bang.

Hopefully Castillo in for Tejada after the break too.

Wow – the good news is Reyes is back in the lineup.
The bad news is it’s 102 degrees.

Here’s hoping the Met bats are as hot as the temperature tonight.

It’s rare that I would turn down free tickets but I did just that today.

100% agree with that move, it’s brutal out there.

Someone just called MadDog and he wanted to trade Reyes for pitching and Cora can be the starting SS. Dog just sighed and said it won’t happen and hung up on the guy.

He hasn’t had a NY wack-job call in in a while and it sounded like it brought back some bad memories from another life.

fatboy would have kept that guy on the line for 15 minutes, egging him on and agreeing with him.

saw this over on Ted Berg’s site (they really should give him Met’s blog. for someone that looks like Ferris’s 12 year old little brother, he writes very well). It concerns the lineup when Beltran comes back (oops, I forgot: If!). I will let you interpret who you think should be sitting out!

“Among the men who man his position, Francoeur is dead last in OPS. He’s second to last in OBP, last in wOBA and third to last in WAR.

And why shouldn’t Francoeur, a Major League veteran, be given more leeway? Because these numbers are precisely in line with the ones he has posted across his career. This is Jeff Francoeur.

Flashes of awesomeness like the one he had to start the season or his three-week stretch starting in late May are nothing new; they were enough to enchant the Braves into giving him everyday playing time for four seasons. But Francoeur still hasn’t mastered the strike zone, so he is forever prone to the lengthy droughts that have hampered his 2010.”

As much as I like Frencys arm in right I would rather have Pagans bat. Pagan has really Done an outstanding job.
