good move Igarashi needs to get his stuff on track and we have 3 pitchers going who should give us 7 IP+ in their starts so we dont need the bullpen help soon.

I thought iggy was doing pretty good recently. But, I guess they did have an 8 man pen now with Taka in there.
Evans is good to have on the bench on the off chance they need a CI for any reason. Plus it gives them some RH pop off the bench.
The assorted moves for after the break should be interesting, with Beltran due back, and potentially Ollie too. He must be due for another start soon, right?

I’ll take the over but I think it will be only 2 or 3 total plate appearances late in games against LH ATL relievers.

Wow Steve Phillips first wanted to trade Strasburg for Oswalt, now he just said the Mets should send Castillo to CHC for Zambrano in a “my problem for your problem” deal. Says that Castillo’s return will negatively impact team chemistry.
First of all I doubt that but second of all why wouldn’t Zambrano disrupt the team chemistry? I don’t get it Steve.

OK thank you I did not hear that part.
If it were my choice I’d just rather have Ollie & Castillo knowing they make a total of $18 million next year then expire as opposed to Zambrano making $18.875 mil next year, $19 mil in 2012 and then $19.25 vesting option for 2013 even though the 2013 is unlikely to vest (has to be healthy at end of 2012 and finish in top 2 Cy Young voting 2011 or top 4 Cy Young voting 2012).
I just think it will be easier for the Mets to get out from under/work around Castillo/Perez than Zambrano, who is in serious decline and is insane.

agreed but at least there is some promise for results there. Ollie and Castillo are pretty much dead weight now

lets hope we get Lilly or someone before Ollie gets activated…
