Roy Oswalt who along with Ted Lilly will become the center of attention for teams looking to upgrade their rotation before the trading deadline took a moment to remark about one of the teams that had expressed interest in him at one time. That is until they traded for the Mariners Cliff Lee.
“That’s a good pickup for them,” Oswalt said of the Rangers’ move. “He’s a good pitcher, and adding a quality starter like that is going to make them better.”
Oswalt who has to waive his no-trade clause to be traded also said,
“It’s going to have to work out for both of us (he and the Astros) before anybody does it.“

If the reports that Oswalt prefers to stay near his Mississippi home are true his options just virtually disappeared. ATL, TB & STL are his nearest geographic options now. I don’t see any of those teams as likely to acquire Oswalt.

A guaranteed option year would ease the home sickness, i’m sure.

i know this has nothing to do with this post, but there is a post on FWICG.com from mr. baron about Reyes saying he would consider a position change (to 2B). Why? Seriously, why is that even a consideration? Is it a slow day and a mandatory number of posts need to be put out there? Just confusing.
