There seems to be a recurrent theme no matter what analyst I listen to or read, no matter what website I visit over the past couple of months….no one is taking the Mets seriously at all, in fact I see very little even being discussed. I don’t know if it’s because most have just written them off as an extension of last year’s team, think this year’s team is just not a factor and/or there is no drama surrounding them this year.

Get a healthy Beltran back, (and please a healthy Reyes) get another SP and maybe a BP arm and quietly go about their business which should be winning series. Let them underestimate the Mets – might make it easier to do what they need to be doing.

It is kind of hard to seriously pick the Mets. They have a terrible track record for one. Other than Wright and Pagan everyone else is questionable including Reyes now with that oblique. No one has any idea what to expect from Beltran. Bay hasn’t exactly established himself. Pelf’s recent dead arm has people worried if it really is a dead arm. No one knows if Dickey and Takahashi can keep up performing as well as they have. Other than KRod and Feliciano tou have to wonder can every1 else continue to perform. Then you have Jerry. Oh and no one knows if Minaya can take advantage of the money he saved during the off season for not acquiring a expensive pitcher and now use it to invest in one for the stretch run.

A lot of holes. But of course I am looking at it worst case scenario.

LoL the craziest things trigger movie moments. Writing down all the things that could be worrisome for the Mets it caused me to think what does it mean. Which of course triggered the following movie memory.

Now that it’s past midnight, some happy info for tonight’s game, career vs. Tim Lincecum:

    Beltran 4 for 7, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 3 BB, SB

Davis 2 for 2, RBI, BB

    Pagan 1 for 3

and if he plays Reyes 4 for 9, 2 SB
