In case anyone wants to know what I have been using to add these tweets in the posts here is the url. It is pretty simple and quick to use.

Awesome! I’m going to have so much fun with Lindsay Lohan’s tweets now!

On a more relevant note glad to see Beltran and Reyes in there, hoping Reyes is healthy and batting lefty. Trying to imagine Castillo’s name at 2B and thinking it’s a pretty potent lineup.

      1. Mr North Jersey

Wait!, There must be something wrong.

        - There is no Francoeur in the lineup.

        :-D

        1. stickguy

          No wrongs, just Rights!

  2. Mr North Jersey

Somehow it is fitting that with this latest post my earlier post that would automatically play Beltrans intro song is pushed off the page to play no more.

I am sure many are saying finally. lol

    1. GravediggerHebner

      El respondido a mis oraciones.

      1. Mr North Jersey

        Nice…..

  3. CaseStreet

    Now that’s a lineup.

  4. stickguy

This line up, I like. If they could just get a decent 2B in place (damned Havens Oblique!), it could be dy-no-mite!

might flip Ike and Bay though, but that may be a L/R SP move.

and man, I hope this means the Reyes is feeling good after 5 rest days, and can hit LH.

and with the Dickey Hit Machine in there, the only black hole is Cora!

Hey, how many teams have a 7 hole hitter with a .500+ BA?

    1. Mr North Jersey

“how many teams have a 7 hole hitter with a .500+ BA?”

After only 17 at bats I would guess many.

  5. Mr North Jersey

Heyward is off the DL. Everyone is gearing up.

Daily News Live reporting Reyes is a late scratch. Pagan leading off.

So….why wasn’t Reyes just DL’d to begin with? Anyone?

    1. gipperpdx

      Because…it’s the METS, silly girl!

    2. Mr North Jersey

Talk about being cruel How do you put out a lineup before you know if he can hit?

      1. stickguy

wonder what jerry says on the Fan at 6?

    3. stickguy

the Met FO is basically still incompetant?

More likely, it ws erceived as a relatively minor injury, that needed a few days of rest, and that supposedly would not be made worse by playing. Pretty much what Pagan had. But for some reason, Reyes did not recover like Angel did?

so he most likely is “close”, but probably felt a twinge or minor soreness in BP, so they will now overreact and sit him until he is 110%.

as long as they don’t let him play, the DL clock can still be set to last sunday. But he must be very close if he was in the original lineup.

“A team official said Reyes is not yet comfortable hitting from the left side of the plate. He’s expected to be in the lineup Friday against left-hander Barry Zito.”

    1. Mr North Jersey

Maybe if Reyes just relaxed home rather than hang out at ASG he would be ready to play.

Sorry but it just popped in my head.

Anyways if the reports are true and Reyes is expected in Friday’s lineup can I at least of only for one day have the following lineup?

      1. Reyes SS
      2. Pagan RF
      3. Wright 3B
      4. Beltran CF
      5. Davis 1B
      6. Bay LF
      7. Thole C
      8. Tejada 2B
      9. Niese LHP

      1. GravediggerHebner

But won’t Francoeur be playing against LHP? Thole probably will sit too. Hopefully I’m wrong about both items.

        1. Mr North Jersey

True Grave but just look at all our baby Mets all together. LoL

      2. metsfan4decades

I don’t know if he did anything at the ASG he wouldn’t have done had he went home. He basically just hung out, right? I don’t know if he even swung a bat. But IMO, he shouldn’t have been there only b/c he should have been on the DL long before that to begin with.

If he can’t bat come Sat from the left side, they really need to think about doing something…

        1. Mr North Jersey

          I agree 4d I guess I was just venting.

        2. ceetar

yeah. it was a vacation for him. I heard him on a pregame show or something earlier talking about how even if he was scratched he was still going out there with his family. It could’ve been one of us talking. He _was_ relaxing.

      3. Kingman 26

        SEVEN homegrown Metsies!

        I LOVE IT!!!!

Too much of Stick’s cunshine this week…..

        1. stickguy

I’m going to have to put together a Sticktionary at some point. I can barely keep track of all the words I have made up anymore.

    2. metsfan4decades

Ed Coleman said that he hopes to be in there Saturday against Cain.

Thing is, we’ve been hearing for 2 weeks now he still has a ‘twinge’ and he ‘hopes’ to be better in a couple of days. Why can’t I help thinking this is exactly how it started out last year on the west coast with a hamstring twinge and a few days rest he ‘hoped’ to be better?

Castillo aside, I’d really like to see what we thought would be our starting lineup just one day here in 2010….

  8. Mr North Jersey

    So check it out.

Reportedly the #Astros are seeking Jenrry Mejia,Fernando Martinez and Ruben Tejada from #Mets for Roy Oswalt..with NYM picking up all Roys $

Is it safe to say that isn’t happening?

      1. Mr North Jersey

        the dealbreaker being the money

    2. njstuckintx

Didn’t I write that earlier!?!? I told you! They are not quite sane.

  9. rustyjr

Uhoh our old friend armondo benitez was released by the marlis – quiick lock Omar in the dungeon !!

    1. metsfan4decades

      hahaha – uh, no thanks…

  10. rustyjr

Tatis on 60 da dl needs surgery on his shoulder

    1. ceetar

Tatis was probably the least likely of Castillo, Maine, and Perez to ever contribute anything of value again. Now we can basically reflect on the nice work he did in 2008 and leave it at that.

      1. rustyjr

Agreed – he reached his goal of building that church

    2. metsfan4decades

Huh….well thanks for the memories, Fernando. Loved you in 2008.

I’m thinking we’ll not see him again in a Met uniform.

      1. Kingman 26

Right on the money as usual.

      2. stickguy

        no problem to me.

  11. steveo

Just arrived at Att and seeing lots of met love here in frisco

    1. Kingman 26

Jeez, read that quickly and when I re-read it, sure was glad you had a “t” and the end of “met”.

      :-)

    2. metsfan4decades

Lucky you, steveo. Can you to get them to start the game earlier?

I hate these 10 pm and later west coast starts….

On another note, Moyer got shelled and gave up 6 in 3 innings. Cubs on top in the 5th 6-2, but Atlanta up 2-1 in the 7th. Damn those Braves….

  12. metsfan4decades

This is for TRS…Phils DFA’d Figgy again. Aren’t we looking for a BP arm? HAHAHAHA.

  13. stickguy

Olney tweeted that the Mets are now looking into Brett Myers. Finally, FO paying attention to me!

of course, at this point, they should be looking at everyone possibly available.

    1. njstuckintx

And he has a desireable option for next year.
