It Took 214 Games But Tonight The Core Is Finally Back Together

With the possible return of Castillo and Reyes to tonight’s lineup and with the hope that Wright, Beltran and Pagan will also be in tonight’s lineup it means it would be the 1st time since May 20, 2009 that the Mets had Reyes, Castillo, Wright, Beltran and Pagan all in the same lineup.

I Like this year’s lineup. How about you?

Now, just to get Bay to start hitting like Ryan Church… i kid, i kid…

      Isn’t he already doing that?

bay has a lower BA than Lastings, who BTW has actually been hitting, and has won the FT RF job from Church.

Still time for him to have a good career. He does have the bat speed, and who knows, maybe he finally puts it all together?

        L Milz has got Skilz.

    Woo-Hoo!

    The gang’s all here.

Now, if they would only hit like they should…

drop Castillo to 8th, I’d prefer him 2nd but they just don’t have the proper guys to fit down in the lineup. at least this way he’d lead off a fair amount of Barajas makes out.

and you better not have jinxed it. I have a feeling they haven’t decided about Reyes yet.

I think the popular choice is batting Castillo 8th which means Manuel won’t put him there and since the only other place to bat Castillo is 2nd a position I think Manuel wants Pagan in I think he will then put Castillo 7th.

Phew, now run that by me again. :-D

I just hope to see Pagan and Wright in tonight’s lineup especially Wright with that knee of his.

yeah. The Mets don’t really have a “proper” 7th hitter. Frenchy probably fits the mold but he basically sucks.

I mainta Castillo’s best utilized second, but that means Bay/Davis/Pagan 5,6,7 and you don’t bat Bay that low (although maybe you do..) and I don’t want the other two that low either but someone ahs to be..

I like Pagan at 7th. He can provide some power and speed but also can drive in runs too.

But Jerry doesn’t like Castillo, so the chances are Castillo will be at 8th spot to drive in Rod.

That lineup looks great on paper. So did the ’92 lineup.

so will 14 years from now Cora be the Mets manager?

          1. DNDJohan aka kistics

he’ll try to be the Yankees manager first….

        2. njstuckintx

Man, that brings up memories. Not good ones…

Bill Pecota… I think I need a glass of water or a beer or something. ugh.

I cried a little bit when I saw tonight’s line-up. Some good tears, some bad tears, but this is significant in some way, people.

    1. GravediggerHebner

Hold your tears that’s just a projected lineup the actual one is not out yet to the best of my knowledge.

      1. Mr North Jersey

LoL I guess I should of noted that somewhere.

      2. ceetar

Only Carter is at the park yet.

      3. DNDJohan aka kistics

I was saying the same thing. Probability of Reyes being scratched from the lineup is more than 50%.

Did he miss 15 days yet?

Maybe it’s Reyes who doesn’t communicate well to the medical staff. Whether it’s from the language barrier (which I doubt) or competitiveness, I think Reyes doesn’t want to go on DL.

        1. njstuckintx

Well, does reyes get an AS bonus and if he’s on the DL, would he get passed up as an alternate? Conspiracy abounds! heh.

          1. ceetar

he does, and he was passed up.

        2. ceetar

I’m sure he doesn’t. It’s irrelevant. he communicates well enough. Everyone understands what the issue is.

He played like 9 days ago I think, so really, it’s about time..but sounds like he’s ready as well. so we’ll see,

word is Ollie has arrived at the park.

          1. DNDJohan aka kistics

Maybe he’s being traded to the DBacks…

          2. ceetar

Actually, he’s only gotten on a plane sounds like. that’s what i get for listening to rubin.
