   For just tonight, I don’t care where anyone is batting. I’m just thrilled to see them all back, in the line-up.

   Reyes/Pagan as the ‘dynamic duo’ at the top of the order – as Kevin B. has dubbed them.

   Holy crap. Minus Ike this lineup was supposed to be Opening Day lineup. Someone want to explain why Bay is batting 6th? I’m really hoping Jerry platoons RF and C.

         sorry, Bay is a better hitter than Davis. Just because Davis has more HRs than Bay doesn’t make him a better hitter. Barajas has more HRs than Bay, doesn’t make him a better hitter than Bay, either.

   this line up certainly looks better than what they have been putting out there recently. If they had Thole in, it would IMO be the best they can do with this roster. And pretty damned good in any case.

   for RF, just play pagan every day. Frenchy can play when Beltran needs a day off.

   C, a platoon could work, with blanco getting santana. Unless they wise up and go down to 2 catchers.

      “The Mets are going to have a different look when they return home July 26 from this 11-game road trip along the West Coast. Luis Castillo is expected to join the team Monday for the start of a three-game series in Arizona, Josh Thole likely will be demoted and Oliver Perez might even be added to the bullpen later this week as a $12-million “lefty-on-lefty” specialist.”

      “The decision to send down Thole, probably after he catches R.A. Dickey Tuesday, seems to be the most difficult one. Thole has been more productive at the plate than the other two options; he’s hitting .524 (11-for-21).”

      “‘When somebody goes down and can’t do it, then Josh becomes a piece in that scenario,’ Manuel said. ‘But right now, it’s got to be Rod and Henry.’”
