According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com OF Jason Bay has been placed on the 15-day DL due to his concussion and the Mets have recalled OF Jesus Feliciano to fill his spot on the 25-man roster.

well, an actual appropriate place for this!
So, bay to DL. sounds like a smart move.
But Feliciano up? Why? How about someone that can actually hit, with some power?
Or is that a non-issue since they are just replacing Slappy McBayster?

worst thing is, this means that Frenchy will be starting FT, doesn’t it?
Often I scratch my head, trying to understand the thought process that this team uses to reach decisions

Actually slow is my preference, unless the pitcher is that blonde who was in the celebrity softball game the night before the All Star game…then I am glad to be there either way….

stop hating on Feliciano? I’m not sure that there is anybody heads or tails above him as options. you’ve got Carter/Hessman for the power bats. Feliciano can serve as a need to make contact guy.

Carter a “power bat”?
In his last 23 PA, since late June, Carter has 7 singles, 0 HR, 0 runs, 0 RBI, 1 walk and 4 K.
Since we left Cleveland on June 17, Carter has come to the plate 37 times and has ONE double.
A “power bat”???
Feliciano can run and maybe play a little outfield.

If the Mets are going to compete for postseason then of course you do not trade Bay but If they are not I still say trade while his value is High if it means adding a solid arm for 2011 and beyond.
