Hmm, I must’ve done something wrong I didn’t get the cool border like Mr. NJ does. Oh well…

    1. Mr North Jersey

I can’t say why it did not add border but one thing i do is when i paste the code I make sure I am in HTML mode and not in visual and I never switch back n forth from html to visual once i paste code.

Thanks for the tip. I did post it in html mode but then I switched back out of habit before posting. Thanks also for making the border show up. I wouldn’t have done this at all but I didn’t see you logged in when I noticed the lineup was out and there had not been a post in many hours. I hope I didn’t step on your toes.

Stepping on my toes? Not at all Grave. Thank you for keeping the “twitter tweet” in the title.

My pleasure. I like alliteration. I love double alliteration.

          2. ceetar

            do you lust redundant alliteration?

          3. GravediggerHebner

            It’s allitergasmic!

As much as I like the idea of batting Beltran 3rd in a vacuum (and I like it way more than I liked batting Reyes 3rd in a vacuum which I liked quite a bit) I haven’t seen “the real” Beltran, which I may never see again, or even close enough to the real Beltran to warrant batting him there. I think he’s still got 2-4 weeks to go before he’s out of spring training mode and into regular season mode.

This, like so many other moves this team makes, reeks of desperation.

Beltran lifetime vs. Hudson: 23-62 (.371) with four homers and 14 RBIs. .371, .435, .597 slash line for OPS of 1.032. He owns the guy, at least the old version of Beltran did. Maybe they’re hoping to get him going, facing a pitcher he’s done well against with the hot Wright batting behind him….

      2. GravediggerHebner

ASod you put forth an excellent reason for trying Beltran there.

I think it’s at best 50/50 that Manuel was aware of this.

        1. trs86

We bash Jerry a lot and rightly so. However, to think that the Mets don’t have someone looking at match-ups would be faulty in my opinion.

          1. youngvalerawest

Who was looking at how Valdes matches up against left handed hitters? Someone with faulty eyes or a faulty understanding of basic numbers like batting average and slugging percentage?

          2. asod75

Don’t get me started about Valdes. I like Valdes, he seems to do well in the long relief role but he is NOT a LOOGY. Would have rather seen Acosta there then have Valdes get pounded….

          3. youngvalerawest

Everybody but Jerry knows Valdes is not a LOOGY and that a .500+ SLG percentage against by lefthanders is not a good thing.

(more importantly eve, Pelfrey seemed to have been pitching just fine at the time)

          4. GravediggerHebner

You’re right. What I should’ve said was I think it’s at best 50/50 that Jerry would deem this a relevant factor in determining his lineup.

  3. stickguy

    desperation, thy name is Jidiot.

maybe he got a fancy new hat to pull names out of, and just had to use it?

  4. tkfj2

Beltran should not be hitting 3rd.

Frenchy shouldnt be hitting 6th, let alone still be on this team. I rather have Feliciano in there.
