Adam Rubin writes that Fernado Martinez and Ruben Tejada were “scratched from Triple-A Buffalo’s game 10 minutes before the first pitch.”
Rubin writes that sometimes this indicates that the major league team has requested the players be held out so that they stay healthy for a promotion.
We’ll just wait and see.

Pretty much has to be one of three things:
1). Manager’s decision;
2). They’re coming up to the Mets;
3). They’ve been traded.
The handful of Buffalo-based reporters that I follow on twitter have been silent tonight so no hints from them.

Absolutely. Bring them all up.
The fork is so far into this group that it is sticking out the other side.
Maybe they have traded Francoeur and FMart will play right.
Maybe they are ready to sit Cora and/or release Slappy and play Tejada.
Facts must be faced and the very uncertain future must be explored.
Now is a great time to start.

At least our minor league teams are watchable btw when I asked Mack from macks mets who would take tejadas place on the depth chart if tejada was traded and he said turner – I can live with that

Buffalo. Which to me indicates these guys are not being traded or if they are they are being traded by someone over Omar’s head because otherwise he’s flat lying saying “they” (Buffalo) made that decision.

Not really. If Bay is out for a long while, they could demote/release the worthless/futureless Carter and start giving FMart some playing time.

who could they possibly be traded for? even speculating, I can’t think of anyone. My guess is it’s DFA’s and up come the kids, if anything.

It’s all wild speculation at this point but my own speculation (fueled by something Coutinho said) is not that they’ve been traded but that they would be called up to replace people who are being traded.
Coutinho thinks it’s related to the Cubs and Zambrano so Tejada makes a lot of sense if Castillo goes to Chicago. FMart though makes less sense cuz who would be going to Chicago, Francoeur? Beltran? Bay? Not Pagan the money makes no sense.
And where if at all does Perez fit in this scenario?
I suppose it’s conceivable that the Mets would send FMart and/or Tejada to get CHC to eat more of Zambrano’s money but I still got to get rid of Perez somehow to bother doing that.

The simplest answer is usually the correct one. This scenario would explain Omar not knowing about it and therefore him saying “They” did that.
