Fist of fury?
According to Andy Martino of the New York Daily News the New York Mets wanted to suspend combative closer Francisco Rodriguez for longer than the 2 days he ultimately received after the recent Citi Field family room incident with his common-law-father-in-law and told him so.
But as Martino points out:
“In Major League Baseball, punishments are determined in a collaborative process involving the team, league, and Players Association. In this instance, the union is believed to have prevented the Mets from issuing a more severe penalty.”
Given Rodriguez’s pattern of behavior and given the parsed support of his current teammates, coaches and ownership, his return to the team later today should be interesting.

Grave I see you centered it then removed it for what seems like everything else got centered not just the image which is probably the only thing you wanted centered.
Make sure that when you use the center tag that it is as follows.
<_center> Image goes here <_ /center>
The forward slash has to be in the closing tag as above so everything else following also doesn’t get centered. As always you have to remove the underscore.

Thank you for the further explanation. I was unaware of the forward slash closing tag aspect. I was just putting the <_center> in various places and wondering why it didn’t work right.
Then I finally understood about the concept of the closing tag but was unclear on exactly what I should be surrounding with these two pieces of information. Through some trial and error I figured out where I should put them and it worked!
So thank you for the free lessons I finally got it.

actually, I believe it is genuine. People are always saying the wilpons are overly concerned about image and PR (not that it stops them from doing dumb things), and this is certainly an embarrassment to them. so yeah, I am sure they would have been happy to have him suspended longer.
especially since they save about 60K/day.
and somehow, I have a vision of misch bobbing and weaving through 6-7 good innings, the set up guys holding for a change, and K Rod coming in and melting down to blow a save.

If the reaction on the blogsphere is to be believed these past few days, you’re going to get all three. Some think he should be hanged, some think it’s no big deal and some just want to see wins…..
I’m in the camp of there was more to the story than first reported, although it doesn’t excuse KRod’s lack of control there. Glad to hear he’s apparently getting some help dealing with that temper.
I’m just tired of hearing about it. When does the game start??
