The Mets say KRod told trainer he hurt his thumb in altercation with his father-in-law reports Ed Price of Fanhouse.

It is being reported by Ed Price of Fanhouse.com that the Mets will place KRod on disqualified list and have informed him that they will attempt to convert his contract to non-guaranteed. He will not be paid while on DQ List.

According to Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork KRod’s agent Paul Kinzer has confirmed that Francisco Rodriguez underwent surgery on his right thumb ligament in Manhattan this evening.

Looks like what I thought would happen will happen.
Mets will get the 3M for what he misses now and then will get to void his option. Win-Win.

Players union will always fight any salary reduction. However, you would think they would have a case to do those 2 things.
