Well I think that it is safe to say that I wasn’t the only one who’s blood was boiling last night when I saw Oliver Perez play fighting with Bullpen catcher Dave Raccinello last night ! Hell I am starting to think there is a vast canyon that separates both of Ollie’s ears in that thick skull of his. I mean he has to know that he is the most reviles player on that Mets team right? He should know that this might be broadcast during the game. I know it must be boring just sitting on your ass for three hours while you are collecting twelve million dollars to do nothing – but lets call a spade a spade Ollie – You just don’t care anymore do you ?!? So In honor of the ineptitude of Oliver Perez , I give to you …..

Actually, Comfortably Numb is perhaps the very best song in the universe for Ollie, and pretty much for the 2009-2010 Mets.
Nice work!

I was never a big nirvana fan – but I wonder if Ollie could win a Dickie Wifebeater lookalike contest – he was in the mentors

I watched the game last night but must have missed that shot in the BP with Ollie.
I’m just done with this whole Perez saga. Sports Night on SNY last night quoted Ollie as saying he wants to be back with the team next year. The quotes went something like:
‘I know the people, they are not happy. I just keep working hard.
I’m resigned to just sit here and wait.’
As much as most of us wanted him gone, or at the very least accepting the minor league assignment, it was within his rights to refuse it. To his credit, any sound bites I’ve heard, he’s not bad mouthing the team, the FO, nor has he whined much about his situation or caused much controversy. I think if he was, we’d be hearing sound bites every night.
With that sad, I can’t imagine Perez is back with this team next year.

Since you basically used the phrase in your post I’m surprised one of the songs wasn’t I Don’t Care Anymore by Phil Collins. The Motley Crue song pretty well sums it up.

Ollie always comes across as a nice enough, if a bit dopey, guy. Maybe not the sharpest tack in the box though.
so, I would not be surprised if it was not him, but Boras, that refused to allow him to go to AAA.
but for the life of me, I can’t figure out why.
Obviously Boras’s only focus is getting Ollie his next contract. and the olnly way that happens is if he proves that he can still pitch. and that for sure is not happening now!
so, my guess is that Boras figured that when he stuck the mets with Ollie, they would have to cut him, so he could go to another team and pitch. Not factoring in the lunacy of the Met FO, that they would rather bury him, cutting off their own nose to spite their face.
