Texas To Unveil Francoeur vs Lefty Starters

The Texas Rangers Blog reported the following:

“On Sunday, the Rangers face LHP Brian Duensing. Manager Ron Washington said new acquisition Jeff Francoeur will play against every lefty remaining on the schedule, so he should be in the starting lineup.”

Meh. Off my team, off my mind.

    nice for him.

but, why couldn’t the mets realize, long ago, that this needed to happen? Omar just had to make sure there was a viable LH counterpart, and jerry just had to say this is the way it is, deal with it, and do it.

frankly, the met management strikes me as analagous to parents that have no control or discipline over their kids. THe kids decide what to do, and the parents are afraid to say no.

I lack the energy or desire to pursue it much but I wonder if Frenchy will be vocal about needing/wanting to play every day down in Texas like he was up here the second that didn’t happen.

Interestingly enough if left in this role of only playing against LHP and perhaps some late game defensive use he will likely become a more productive player overall. Had he been able to handle the concept without he and his agent whining with the Mets he may have proved useful here and salved the 89% of SNY respondents who considered trading him away bad.
