Congrats to Brooklyn Cyclones CF Darrell Cecilian. He is the 1st Cyclone to ever win the New York Penn League Batting Title. His .351 BA also set a franchise record as the the highest BA for a single season.

I really like this kid from afar. I know nothing about how to judge minor league ball players I leave that to experts and pundits who know better what stats to analyze and how to analyze them.
All I know is that when he was drafted Ceciliani was compared favorably to Jacoby Ellsbury. Maybe it was just because they are both from Madras, Oregon. But both have now spent a season in the same short season A ball league (NYPL), Ceciliani this year at Brooklyn at age 20 and Ellsbury his age 21 year at Lowell. Ceciliani had better numbers.
I hope this means we have a budding major league starting outfielder on our hands, and hopefully ours is less oft-injured.
