Next week I’ll start throwing questions about what the Mets should do this Off-Season but for now, since the Brewers are coming to town this week, I got a question about the Mets former Manager.
Since there might be up to 13 managerial openings all over the league, do you think Willie Randolph finds a job managing again? And just for laughs, can you include the team that he might work for?

I was going to leave it at that but what the heck. I think he returns to the Skankee’s in some role or maybe on Mattingly’s staff in LA.

I am going to vote no, but make it a tentative. ANd that is only because of the large number of openings, the fact that a number of guys leaving spots will be retiring or unemployable (Jerry!), and how teams love to recycle. And of course, my Met fan bias
But while staying in some capacity as a bench coach sounds more likely, it is possible that he can convince someone (after the Jerry era) that he (willie) was not the problem, the organization (and players) was. So maybe 2006 was the “real” willie?

I read where Willie was not going to be considered for management for brewers job. I think Willie will need to go on a team as the managers right hand man that has success before he starts being mentioned for management position again.

My wildly unsubstantiated joke of a prediction is that Willie & Rick will move a bit southeast from Milwaukee to join their old Met-friend Sandy Alomar Jr. on the staff of their old Met-friend Manny Acta in Cleveland where they can all choke together.

I think Willie will manage again someday. Just don’t think it will be next season.
